My account is hacked

Hello, my account has been hacked and now all the information I provided they sent to it that I have to send them a photo ID It is not clear to me how they will confirm that it is me when all the information has been changed? I have all the cards I used to make purchases through that account and that is not enough confirmation for them?so I wonder if I can see through my ID card that I am the original owner who buys through those cards or how will they confirm?

Hi,

Blizzard used to request official photo ID but had stopped (I don’t know why) and replaced the process of verifying the identity of the player with a set of questions. It is news to me that they are now again asking for a photo ID.

Ensure that the request is indeed from Blizzard; you can check the status of your ticket here: https://eu.battle.net/support/en/help/case . Click on your ticket to open it. If the ticket is still opened, you can reply to it. If not you will need to create a new ticket and refer to the first ticket number so that they can be linked (see below).

I suspect that their system maintains some sort of history or log of account info… so that they can monitor changes. Usually, one cannot change the family name or the country without some sort of official documents to back this up… so it is likely that the original info is still in your account, even if the hacker change the e-mail/password.

A few comments, if I may.

  • You already have a topic here and have received an answer from MissCheetah, a MVP. I would suggest that you reply to her with the info above… she has been a MVP for over 10 years now, helping players in WoW, Diablo III, and more. She is a reliable source of information.

  • As @MissCheetah has already told you… do not reply to the e-mail. Use the ticket system:

Good luck !
