Dear World of Warcraft Development Team,
I am writing to share my thoughts as a long-time player who has been engaged with the game on and off since its initial release, I first delved into Mythic+ content toward the end of Battle for Azeroth, where I learned about addons and took on tanking roles across multiple classes, including Paladin, Monk, Blood Death Knight, and Guardian Druid. This involved meticulously tracking party cooldowns, interrupts, stuns, and other critical mechanics to enhance group performance.
In the current expansion, my aim was do level more tanks and continue to enjoy my experience. I have levelled two characters to max and completed Mythic 0 dungeons, and even participated in the beta for Midnight. I believe I have given the game a thorough and fair evaluation, and I plan to revisit Mythic+ once it fully launches in the coming weeks.
That said, I am concerned about the recent decision to restrict or remove certain addons in preparation for a potential console release in the next expansion cycle. While I appreciate the ambition to expand the game’s accessibility, I seriously fear this move will inadvertently alienate a significant portion of your dedicated player base, who rely on these tools for deeper strategy, customization, and enjoyment. Addons have long been a cornerstone of the WoW experience, fostering community innovation and personalization that sets the game apart.
I urge you to consider alternative approaches that preserve addon functionality on PC while adapting for consoles, ensuring the game remains inclusive for all platforms without compromising its core appeal.
Thank you for your time and for continuing to evolve this beloved game. I look forward to future updates.
