Hi I am a Turkish Player playing all of the blizzard made game atm,And I just wanted say that The Turkish Interpretation that whoever is making is so wrong and soulless it needs to be put on hold.
its not like they are translating wrong but the translation method used is more likely a Google Translate which I would not be surprised if blizz came up and said yeah we are translating via google translate.
Most of the special zone names Changed to Turkish which is wrong as a Translation Method Which a specific name used in “special” places like the sword of Bilbo baggins is not translated in the language because of it being a name for a sword thus changing the name is the same as changing the name Michael to let’s say Vladimir.
And its just soulless like The name of one of the zones upcoming with shadowlands;Bastion is translated to the word “Hisar” which means just a castle with more fortifications.Or The Word “Raid” is translated to “Baskın” which is nowhere near the real experience in game it offer. The Word itself means “Attacking the enemy by surprise” like what ??. Blood God is translated to “Kan İlahı” which means Blood “God” that’s true(but the word Ilah is used only in Multi-God Mythologies).
I Like Blizzard Paying attention To our Country but This translation isn’t really good I really think its not even proofread.
To point out my problem with it I want you to check the translation of StarCraft 2 Co-op Commander Arcturus Mengsk. The Word “Sons of Korhal” is not translated to Turkish and that’s great cause as I said its a special name (it could’ve been translated easily tho) But every translation except this one is just soulless and just wrong. You Can’t Use Word for word method for every translation.
Most of the Turkish people I play with even agrees in-game about those “horrible” translations and saying it’s just straight up “cringe” or “bad”. If You can’t find a decent translation for the word “Raid” as what it means in the book you’ve got to look another words to translate it.
Please Reconsider Translating Turkish because it really seems those translators doesn’t seem to have a grade for Translation-Interpreting. I even gave some of the translated words with original words to my professors (i’m studying also translation) And they have the same issue as I pointed in this long and tiring to read paragraph.
I hope my Feedback could reach someone at Blizz,Cause if this is the Battle.net Interference Translation you are getting I don’t want to see in-game translations.
Sincerely
Adding : I Read what I wrote and I don’t seem optimistic about the whole process of translation,Which I regret now.Just wanted to clarify that I think the translations could be better and more fitting but looking at the Battle.net Interface Translations,it needs to be put on hold for now,it feels rushed translation which doesn’t makes the translated stuff “exciting” or “fun”.
