My account is registered to EU, I live in South East Asia. The desktop app is always in USD. It also doesn’t show which pets / mounts I have collected, even when I am logged into my account.
The region detection is also annoying on the web. I constantly have to switch back to EU (using the switcher at the bottom of the page) even after I log into my EU account.
What currency are you wanting it to appear in?
I believe currency is determined by the location you live in and can be changed using an auto service.
You can play games in different regions to where you live ofc. What game are you playing that it keeps changing?
For example on the Blizzard Launcher it usually remembers what I logged into last when it comes to World of Warcraft.
