Swapping between Switch and PC

Evening

So I cant play d2r if the battlenet client is running on my pc and that’s even with the multiple instance of battlenet option ticked. Is this intended or is there a work around because its a bit silly if I accidently leave my pc on before travelling and cant play the switch purely because the battlenet app is running.
