The issue with Hong Kong

I dont believe that as a company, you made the best move. As a NA consumer I understand that the country of China is a massive income base for you, but you need to understand that your market in the western world are watching what is going on in Hong Kong and we dont agree with how the CCP has handled the situation. What I’m trying to say is, you have put a price on everyones head in Hong Kong, and that price is the buisness you do with china. We dont agree with what you are doing and it will affect my choice of buying your products. If you value your gamer base as a whole, you should change your stance, because we dont need you, but you need us. Just like the Hong Kong people dont need china, but china needs hong kong for its ports.

Sincerly,
Concerned

I am an EU consumer and I’ve been a fan for decades. But I have to agree with the OP. Freedom isn’t free. Many societies in our modern world are broken and exist to opress people. It’s the countries with values that need to lead by example and not cave and become like authoritarians. Dear Blizzard, please change your stance on this issue. If not, then please feel free to ban my account as I will not be supporting you with purchases in future.

As an EU player, i refuse to support a company that works with a murderous dictatorship. If money is that important to you Blizzard, and you dont care about peoples freedoms, then feel free to delete my account. I will never buy another game or support your company in any way. Chinas communist party is locking up christians, muslims, tibetan buddhists, killing them and selling their organs. And that is only a tiny part of the evil that China is. Some might think that this does not impact them, that they can happily keep playing their favorite Blizzard games, but by doing that you are silently supporting them. I will have no part in this. After the latest “statement” from J. Allen Brack, which proved to be nothing but a bunch of lies, i had it. Blizzard is not the same company that made the games i loved. The people who made the original WoW, Diablo, Starcraft are not even at Blizzard anymore.

They won’t even let me delete my account and i’ve been trying for 5 days. They have been silent about the issue, waiting for the issue to just solve itself. They know that people forget easily with the massive information we receive each day and they are betting on it. Fuck Blizzard, honestly, i don’t care what you do or what stance you take after this. Just let me delete my account, i will never support you or consume any of your services again.

I agree, how can I fight against Emperor Mensk with Jim Raynor, for his totalitarian regime, and not fight with Hong Kong against China?

Honestly, perhaps Blizzard should of split into two companies if it wanted to court China’s money without offending it’s EU/US player base.

It seems rather obvious that there was always going to be trouble, given that one group of nations are interested in freedom as a core belief and China seems to hold to the creed of obedience to the hierarchy/family/government.

Either way, well, i will be making sure to get the most out of my remaining subscription and then, well sadly if things haven’t changed then, my fifteen-odd year account will be going the way of the dinosaurs.

Or of free speech.

Regards - A newly heartbroken fan.

Im really excited for this years Blizzcon, its gonna be a shitfest, probably the biggest one ever! and im just gonna laugh at everything that is happening to blizz since they brought this n themselves when they sold out to China.

Free Hong Kong!
