Dear Blizzard Team,
I would like to add one more thought to the requests that have already been made by Ukrainian players.
For us, Ukrainian localization is not simply a matter of convenience. It is something that would allow thousands of players to feel that there is a place for them within the Blizzard community.
Many Ukrainian players have been with Blizzard for years. We grew up with your games, created our characters, built friendships and communities, and spent countless hours in the worlds you created. Yet when we open the game today, we still have to choose between languages that do not fully represent our community.
English is not equally accessible to everyone, especially when it comes to quests, lore, complex mechanics and large amounts of in-game information. Russian is technically understandable to many Ukrainians, but after the full-scale invasion, hearing and reading Russian every day has become emotionally difficult for a huge number of people.
This creates a situation where Ukrainian players often have to choose between understanding the game and feeling comfortable while playing it.
We are not asking Blizzard to take something away from another community. We are asking you to give Ukrainian players an option that should have existed a long time ago: the ability to play Blizzard games in Ukrainian.
Even if a full Ukrainian localization cannot be introduced immediately, adding Ukrainian to the Battle.net interface, providing Ukrainian subtitles, or creating an official Ukrainian community/server infrastructure would already be a meaningful step.
Please don’t let the Ukrainian community remain invisible.
We are here. We play your games. We support Blizzard. We create content, build communities and bring new players into your games.
All we are asking for is the opportunity to experience these worlds in our own language.
Thank you for hearing us.
