My father bought me Warcraft III ROC+TFT over 15 years ago and I do like to play it now and then because it’s great and I have a lot of fond memories with the game. I play the French version.
When I want to download the Classic edition (not Reforged) on the website, the installer automatically wants to download Reforged (which takes up 10 times as much space on the computer, and has different voices which I like a lot less. Plus, the balance isn’t the same)
I know this was an issue back when Reforged came out, but expected it would be solved. Yet, I don’t seem to find an answer to my issue, at least not legally.
How can I play the game my father bought me again?
There currently is no “classic” client or download, Reforged is the new Base client all Warcraft 3 users use now.
So we’re sorry about that being the case here now, but there’s not a way to download just the “classic” parts of the game right now.
It is feedback that we do get and is passed on, but it may not be something that will be possible to do now, it does make updating the game easier through the Blizzard App with our other games though.

Then… Well that sounds more like a matter of “won’t” rather than “can’t” since they could have split it in two like they did for Starcraft and Starcraft Remaster, one Reforged launcher and one Classic launcher, even if the former was offline only.
But in that case, is there at least an option to have the old French voices back? I don’t want to shrink down the investment and reduce the work of the voice actors involved, but… I really, really, REALLY prefer the old voices. Could you imagine watching your favourite show for years and years on end, then suddenly everybody has a different voice ? And not just for one episode, but for every season from now on. AND before that, because yes, they also changed the voices in the previous episodes you’ve already seen many many times, too. It is particularly unsettling.
Sorry, I realize this has probably been told before; and I myself, when the game came out, complained about it. But it’s been months and it doesn’t seem like Blizzard is intending to do anything about it
