Whoops! Something went wrong - Xbox account linking

Has anyone else had this issue? I’m trying to link an xbox account to my battle.net so I can get Diablo 4 on GamePass. When I press continue on the xbox screen I get this error and it says to wait a moment and try again. Of course, when I try again, it still doesn’t work.

I don’t currently have an account linked so that can’t be the issue. My account is valid and up-to-date. I’m using Chrome but also tried in another browser (edge) in case that was the issue and still nothing.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I hope this gets answered. I’ve tried for days and nothing. I’m about to swear off battle.net games.

UPDATE: IT WORKED!

Not sure what happened as I haven’t heard anything from anyone in blizzard since I created this post, but I just tried to connect it again and it worked!

For some reason, it never made it to Blizzard CS EU.

has anyone found a fix ? i just keep getting whoooops something went wrong after i click continue to link the accounts… re try and same thing every time.

Right here with you guys, Been trying for a few days now. I was getting excited to play some Diablo with my gamepass sub - but, meh.

I guess I’m joing the group of nothing is working. I went to update my password and username. Still getting the, “Whoops! Something went wrong.” Message over and over again for the past week.

I found an extreme workaround. I feel nothing for my very old Battle.net account. So I had to make a whole new account to connect to my Xbox. Which does mean an entirely new E-Mail to go along with it. Now I can play Diablo IV with zero problems, after I enabled P2P in my wifi settings. Anyway, I hope this helps somebody out there!

Having the same issue here, I just bought an xbox series x and created an xbox account, tried connecting to battle.net and got this error. When I submitted a support ticket I was told I have this issue because I already linked my xbox account to another battle.net, but that doesn’t make sense since I just created the xbox account on the same day I tried linking it! There’s definitely a server side issue happening in blizzard for this and it’s frustrating to see after dropping 70 freaking dollars on a game.

Hi I figured it out. Go to my games and app then down to whatever game it is and click the more options. Then go to the add ons and delete the one with 255mb which will get rid of all old accounts and progress. Make sure to not just delete from console but from everywhere. It’ll let you log in after that
