2.4 disappointment

I honestly don’t understand the mentality the developers have for this patch. Why would they buff the already most popular and OP classes with new builds? I thought the whole purpose of the patch was to buff the underwhelming builds and classes. The SS druid changes doesn’t make any sense at all, there’s so much nonsense and it really feels like the developers don’t understand what the community wants at all? At this point I’d rather not see the patch than to see it going live.

The game have been ongoing for 20 years ish? There’s lots of data about the game and which classes underperform, which builds do great etc - and these are the changes they come up with? With all the possibilities of improvement and what they decided to improve/change are very disappointing to me. Is the mentality of the developers that they want Sorcerers and Paladins to be OP? What is even the point of the other classes in the modern day of gaming? People are min-maxing games. The game will still be “the paladin and sorcerers monster slaying game”…

I fully agree with you. I even go a step further, not even calling this a “patch”.
Not playing PTR, but watching a lot of videos.
They just changed some skill damage values and some synergies a lil bit, added 7 new rune words (where only 2 or 3 are endgame viable), added some minor stuff and thats it.
Outcome is that hydra sorc and holy fire builds (if you have gg items) became viable. All other changes seem to make chars maximum mediocre compared to sorc/hammadin.

So, this patch is about to have 2 more endgame builds, thats it. Ama, barb, druid, assa, pala (except hammadin) still nothing compared to existing endgame builds. no other classes, not more set items, uniques, and so on.

is this really all? Seems like 2 devs would have been worked total on this patch.

they dont really want to create more op builds to shift the meta, so they only buff small stuff. messing with the economy is not great

dont think it is about that. doesnt make a difference if 80 % are playing 2 op builds or if 80 % are playing 5 op builds.

think it is more a “invest less, earn much” thing. All these new “changes” take 1 person 2 days to think of.

And i dont think it takes that much time from technically side for a 60 billion dollar company.

Just give every class a few endgame builds, throw in some new uniques, set items and you have a happy community.

i agree about sorc and pals, and druid have a low buff. But they try to buff assa and ama.
Undeperform builds like elemntal druid doesnt work anyway. Most of druid’s pets die so fast and doesnt work too. bear is not bad if you spent around 60 points in bear and sinergy, but anyway bear dont give you option to fast farming.

I really hope that d2r will not become "play patch to patch " game…
Give us d2 lod remaster mb with some additional uber locations!!!

lol, they really nerfed now the only 2 viable endgame builds out of this patch of which one is super expensive. WTF. What is now the sense of this patch?! doenst change anything in making new builds than before the patch???
