Are Russians banned from the game?

Is it some technical issue or due to the politics? When I open the game I see no characters and get the message ‘Failed to authenticate. Try again later’. Now I see all these recent threads about server problems. But now I also have ‘Buy game’ button in my Battlenet window. I bough the game 6 month ago. What the hell blizzard?

Any IP-addresses that are related to Russia, at the moment, have certain difficulties. In particular, they blocked any purchases on the Battle.net website. net, also those who have a subscription will not be able to renew it. A number of bank cards were also blocked, including this one
and Blizzard. Russian players are under huge pressure from players on European servers. Unfortunately, Blizzard has declared war on the Russian gaming community. And in every possible way encourages this development of the situation.

So the fact that gamers have nothing to do with the invasion to Ukraine and that the games were legally bought long before SHTF doesn’t mean anything anymore? They are going to have their revenge on their customers whose only fault was being unlucky enough to be born in a country run by a crazy dictator? OK.

It’s just that Blizzard tries not to lose face and tries to show that they are like everyone else at the moment. And yes, exactly what you had in mind is happening with the gaming market in Russia. Or they’re just playing to someone else’s tune.

Meanwhile I’ve got the response from technical support. They suggested me clear the battle.net cache (which I did) and make sure I’m using the right account (lol like I’d have a few battle.ney account for whatever reason). None of these helped unsurprisingly. They didn’t comment of why can I see “Purchse” button towards the game I’ve already bought.
So I guess blizzard has shown it’s face once again. They are improving their recently damaged image by fighting evil russian gamers.
UPD Turned out my case was a technical issue after all. But Blizzard still denied selling any products to russian gamers and I don’t see how it is their fault.

Lol, nothing to do with invasion :smiley: you and all the russian “elected” Putler and company to lead your country. All Russian IP should be banned from all servers, till you make it right.
