Hi there, I bet a lot of people have pointed at this but I wonder why nothing is done about it:
In Werewolf form, at least at lower ranks, the attack speed of the druid is actually reduced!
Why is that and why is nothing done about it? I mean, I pick that skill for a reason. When the skill description says that this skill will increase my attack speed but really it is decreasing it, that’s bad!
attack speed (not the stat, the real effect) is directly linked to the number of frames of the animation. And this is different between BEAR / WOLF and Human animations.
This is for the Why is that.
Blizzard is aware of that and tried something on the PTR. Will see, but it doesn’t seem to fit what players want
Thank you for the answer, Mirzull! I have to admit that I didn’t completely understand, though. Does that mean that the Werewolf attack sequence takes more frames than that of the Druid in his natural form and therefore takes more time? It would be stupid to tell players that a skill enhances their attack speed and then link this skill to an animation that makes it worse. This would be absolutely super stupid. I mean somehow it must be possible because later in the game with more ranks in the werewolf form or other skills related to attack speed, the attack speed is really incresed.
the problem is that AttackSpeed is used for 2 differents thing in your description.
Attack speed = the number of time your character attacks per second.
Attack speed = Which is in reality Increase Attack speed (IAS) - the stat that enhance your attack speed.
The Werewolf ability has IAS, this is why this skill stipulates “Enhance Attack speed.” this is the attack speed of the wolf animation that is increased.
If you spend enough points in werewolf you will attack faster than in human form.
And remember that only attack speed of your weapon count, for fury Druid. Increase attack speed on your gloves and other will make no difference
Sorry, I just don’t understand. Two different meanings of attack speed? If the animation speed is increased then my character can attack faster=more often per second. For me both are the same.
When it says 28 percent at second level I expect it to increase 28 percent at second level and not after havin spend another 5 ranks into it. If Blizzard uses a strange explanation for why this skill doesn’t work as described then something is wrong.
BLIZZARD, please wake up and finally fix this. This is a bug or simply something you did wrong. When the description of a skill says that my attack speed is increased I expect this to happen.
To make it simple. It increases the speed of attack when in werewolf. IT doesn’t mean than in werewolf your attack is faster than in human form.
And I agree this is misleading
Thank you for being patient with me and replying again! If it is like you say, the description is not only misleading but wrong. It says: attack speed +x percent. This must be related to your attack speed in human form because it gives a value for increased attack speed when you take it for the first time. Since you didn’t have werewolf form before it must be in relation to human form.
But thank you nevertheless. I just hope that the BLIZZARD people will finally wake up and do something about this because what they did here is bad.
I don’t want to say that Blizzard or D2R is bad. It’s just this annoying werewolf skill problem.
I agree with you that it is misleading for new player. It is this way from the moment that Druid was introduced back in the days. Think about werewolf and werebear like they are 2 additional classes, granted by skill or items (barbarian can become a werewolf too). They tried to “fix” this, but they took totally bad approach. In my opinion scaling attack speed to the point where werewolf is faster from skill level 1 solves the problem, or just add a tooltip that says that this skill are meant to be used by experienced players like many other games did
You should remember that you’ve bought an old game with modern graphics
