Hey all! Im sure this has been asked mamy times before, but what is the best base for enigma?
I think most people either prefer Mageplate or Dusk Shroud

Light Plate (41 str, 899 max def)
Mage Plate (55 str, 1076 max def)
Dusk Shroud (77 str, 1313 max def)
Wyrmhide (84 str, 1316 max def)
Scarab Husk (95 str, 1321 max def)
Archon Plate (103 str, 1378 max def)

Most ppl prefer light armor types because they bare no penalty to run/walk speed. Best choices would be Mage Plate, Dusk Shroud and Archon Plate.
The disadvantage of Mage Plates is its lower defense value as an exceptional armor in comparison to elite armor bases. But since Enigma grants a flat amount of defense instaed of percentages, the diffenernce in defense stays just the same as with the base types.(/which is only around 260 or so compared to an archon).
The advantage of the Mage Plate is just its low strangth req. Enigma grants a huge amount of additional STR, and many ppl just dont want to exceed the value demanded by their gear (which often is 156 for a monarch), so they can put the spare points into VIT. Archon has a req of 103 on its own and with +STR per charlvl from Enigma u would easily achieve 170+ STR in the early lvl 90s.
If u need more STR than that anyways, then better take the archon plate.
And be aware of superior bases. While +% def adds greatly to the flat def of enigma,. the repair costs can be annoyingly high everytime.

Mage Plate is the best
Actually its not, unless your making a low lvl pvp
Most builds have at least 103 Strength with utilizing the inbuilt strength of anni/torch/items so getting to 103 is quite easy and the extra 300 defense is a lot better
also cosmetics, i think AP looks better than mage plate
I like wyrmhide, gothic plate or scrabhusk appearances (depending on my character) so I go with them.

Mageplate and AP look the same, both are upped versions of the light plate.
And 103 Str with just Base str is defenitely not archieved by most builds,
as long we do not talk about absolute endgame rares and crafted amulets.
If you will build only one Enigma and use it on several chars, stay with the mageplate.
as a legit player enigma needs a sh…load of luck to get in the first place…so my suggestion is play a sorc…she got inbuild eni
and a zealer smiter pala…if u get lucky and find enough to make an eni change him to hammerdin or whatnot
Two hands for MP. Good def and u dont need to up ur str at all.
I made mine in archon plate, should def have made it in a mage plate… regret it every time i put it on another character
