Black screen after patch 2.4

When I whant to create a game or join other partys I get black window.Always when I try with my main char(a sorceres).If I try with new chars I dont have problems.

WTF happens ? :rage: :sleepy: :rage: :rage:

A bit the same hereā€¦ some chars work some get a black screen after starting a new game game after upgrading to Patch 2.4

same here, luckily only mules locked out for me, but 3 of them in total

LowSets - lvl 5 amazon
Uniques - lvl 1 amazon (has low level unique weps)
UniqueHelmBelt - lvl 1 necromancer

same issue. Still checking how many characters are unable to login.
So far, at least 3 on my main account :frowning:

Same thingā€¦ cant eaven log with my sors, all the time black screen ā€¦

Happens on game join for specific characters. Tried a dozen times or so and every time the same. It also makes the game unresponsive and I have to task kill it to get rid of the proc.

This is super annoying i can change servers and log in to diff char each server, but i hate doing that

Same problem here, some of the char just unable to open game and black screen, can blizzard fix this asap?

I have the same, I have not been able to enter my character for 14 hours.

so I found out on some forums, that I need to switch to realm where I last logged in with that character, log in there, save and exit, exit game, change realm to mine (europe), log in there, then repeat for every locked out charā€¦ luckily only those 3 I wrote you about were being locked in black screen

same issue - 4 chars cannot login ( 1lvl muls)
after switch server from NA to EU - some muls able to login - switch back to NA some high level chars cannot login - WTF?

According to comments, similar to me, joined to US region lobby and not able to login into my char based at EU.

Same problem here, a few of my mules get black screens when I try to create games or get stuck loading when trying to join public games, eventually failing to connect. Please guys, look into this matter. Thank you kindly.

One of my chars also only gets as far as the ā€œblack screenā€ - without an error message. And closing is only possible via Task Manager - thatā€™s annoying. :pensive:

Hello everybody !

Thanks for the reports, we identified the problem, a fix is in preparation.

As mentioned in some posts, thereā€™s a temporary solution, for each stuck character, please :

  • switch the game to another region (click the globe above the play button)
  • launch the game
  • create a game with the affected character
  • close the game, change back the region

my characters wont even load. it says failed to load characters. restarted my computer and still nothing.
