Cannot play in Legacy Mod ? Min. Requirement Error

Hello,

I own a laptop with an I5 3210M, HD7670M, 6Gb Ram + SSD; I know it’s under minimal requirements asked for reworked graphism version but It is by faaar enough for Legacy mod, there’s no discussion here on by many times it’s way much higher than needed so here is my question : why I cannot start the game I Legacy mod then? Why the game is so restrictive now, does scan my hardware and prevent me to reach main menu so I coud swap (to Legacy) ?
I mean : before this launcher, we , players, were free to start and be able test direct in-game if it’s playable or not; If You set up such a restrictive system and baby-sitting us, It could at least be smart and serve players by switching to the correct compatible mode, not just blocking when I could still play it.

I Do own a desktop but won’t buy another one / gaming laptop for my friend to come and play (the good old’ “lan” party), but tbh and it’s just personnal, the gameplay tweaks are by far enough for me (enchanced and shared stash, one-click sell/buying, no more bleeding eyes), enchanced graphism are cool too (bad optimisation -with a RTX 3080- and other stuff apparts) but the possibility to play in Legacy means to be able to play on a pocket calculator BUT I can’t start it =\

So, Can I expect one day a patch to come, unblocking people with lower requirements for HD version to play or I get refunded ?

Oterhwise what is the equivalent in minimum requirement for a laptop compared to desktop hardware please, I cannot find official informations ?

There’s possibly some confusion here
So Diablo 2 Resurrected is using an updated game engine whether you’re in the newer graphics mode or switch to see the ‘legacy’ look. This game doesn’t work the same as Starcraft II Remastered, the 2000 version of Diablo II still exists as it’s own standalone entity with it’s own servers etc.
As for the issues with D2R, we are tracking some problems with the game not launching at all for some players as per this thread.

Hope that helps!

SC II Remastered confirmed
