Hi folks,
Not sure how it works, but when opening cow level and changing difficulty renders map completely new.
It means all areas I visited in both difficulties are hidden (mini-map) and I have to check all areas again.
Example: clear nightmare kurast, switch back to normal cow level. Go back to kurast on nightmare – boom, mini-map is empty (like I never visited it before)
This is how it is intended. In offline play maps are recreated when changing difficulty.
At least in LoD you could pertain your map by manually backup of some files. If you play on PC, vou could give it a shot by backuping the .ma* files corresponding to your character in
c:\Users*user name*\Saved Games\Diablo II Resurrected\
prior to changing difficulty and copy them back after you are done in normal.
its not only a rendering, a complete new random map will be created and saved.
yes, this is the way d2 has always been, working as intended
Randomized maps and therefore huge replayability was one of the huge innovations Diablo brought in its days.
If you do not like how the game generates a new map each time you change a difficulty level, try online mode! It lets you to get new fresh experience with generating a new map each time you enter Sanctuary!
You have only 4-5 layers of maps, absolutly not random
