I am pretty new to the diablo 2 game. When I created my character I did not know that online and offline games can not be played by the same character. Is there a way I can transfer my online character to become an offline one? I dont like to open the map from 0 every time I log in.

Care to give a reason other than flatout no? Why would it be such a bad thing?
In my view converting online toons to offline should most certainly be a thing. It could be a one way transfer from online to offline only for people who dont like waiting in game creation screen or deal with randomly generated maps.
I dont see any down side with that feature.
