The bugs are still occuring a lot, every day I join game for trade and my friend can see other people message, I can’t next game I can see it and he can’t. We all know about the channels, deactivating chat and reactivating chat isnt working. I can’t believe that in 2022 a game have issues with the chat, after all these years of gaming, chat should never be an issue.
Still chat bugged here, played with 4 friends and it was random who could see chat and who couldnt. Doesnt matter how often we turn chat on/off it still happens. Sometimes restarting the client helps but only for a game or 2. Makes in game trading impossible…
chat is bugged. i do about 80 baal runs a day and the chat is bugged about 30% of the games.
i often enter a new game seeing a random topic of conversation continuing, only to find out that it was a conversation between players from the previous game, which i could see nothing of.
seems to occur the moment you join a game, and will persist until you enter a new game.
sometimes i test it by just typing “1”, and if my friends do not reply, i will need to alt-tab to communicate on whatsapp/discord.
lately i’ve just given up on trying to start conversations on in game chat in my baal runs.
now for those who’ve mentioned about trading being impossible - there’s actually a solution to this. Just whisper the player you want to trade with
- open party tab
- right click on the player you want to trade with
- there will be an option to whisper them
whispering works 100% of the time.

Sadly for me whispering doesn’t always work - still looking for a way to communicate.
But at this point this is a luxury problem - ever since 2.4 my problem to login have gotten so bad it’s ridiculous - all I get to see is “Cannot connect to server”, “Failed to authenticate, please try again”, or just an empty character screen (if I’m lucky) - but hey - why expect a working game if you pay for it? It’s Activision Blizzard now after all…

Yeah seems to be an issue with lag. I was in a game with 4 people and for around 30 minutes we couldnt talk to each other. Finally halfway through act 2 all the chat messages came through. There continued to be several minute delays with chats coming through not just for me, but for everyone in the game as well.
Something is causing this lag to occur specifically with the chat function. Despite customer support claims of no bug, the vast number of players experiencing this would suggest otherwise.
yup, 1+ year after release and still an issue. Blizzard is about useless anymore these days. unlikely to buy anymore games from them.
Hey, I cannot see my chat every once and a few games. It REALLY sucks when trying to trade or offer a trade. This has been happening since LAUNCH and I’ve done all of the steps above. It just happened again today TWICE trying to talk in trade rooms. lost out on some goodies for sure. VERY annoying. instead of just saying there are no bugs, can we collectively just put a single person to look into it? Thank you, team.
