Recently I’ve been having this issue where the game is almost at a constant low fps for no reason. I usually had some fps drop when in crowded areas…etc, but this is new.
I almost never had fps issues in interior zones, but now I get it everywhere! then I noticed something when I wanted to check if I had heating issues or something (which I do not thankfully)
I found that my GPU utilization is at 99% almost most of the time, starting from the character selection screen!
I never had this issue before, I tried some things I read on Reddit to change settings in the Nvidia control panel, but it did not work for me!
Any help would be much appreciated

A lot of variables come into play for game performance but the best place to start with the standard troubleshooting steps and then moving from there.

I did some further testing and I noticed that this issue happens mostly with my main character (lvl89 lightning sorc)
Please note that I had no issues a few days ago
I tried playing assassin on normal and everything was ok.
I have the latest Nvidia drivers and windows update installed…
Edit: This issue does not happen with offline characters! Offline works smooth as butter…
A) blizzard servers (billion dollar company has no incentive going beyond trash tier since they cant extract any more money from you playing d2R ) (most likely reason!)
B) Netcode of the game (ancient , with dialup connections in mind)
C) ATROCIOUS optmization of the overlay , 99% GPU utilization is NORMAL , the game is just godawful in any regard when it comes to making use of CPU instead of hogging the GPU performance (cpu sitting at like 8 to 15%).
D) nothing u can do about it
