They sold D1 rights to GOG so that is not happening.
Microsoft can buy it back ez, they can buy GoG if they want!
Only if there i a profit to be made. D1 did not had a huge fanbase as D2.

That would be really nice. The Sorcerer is way superior towards the Sorc of D2.
D1r… I think noone would realy play that. IF a D1, then a real REMAKE. not just a remaster.
Same theme, same location(s) But way better character-developement. Maybe this would have a chance. But only a D1 remaster… At least I wouldn’t bother with that.
If Blizzard do.same thing like with S1 and D2R I’m gonna play it for a long time.
A modern graphical overlay on top of the old engine of D1 like in D2R would be worth a laughter. The game was originally implemented to be round based, then changed to real-time while the UI has never sufficiently been adapted to that change.
But I really would like to see a remake. The athmosphere of D1 has never been beaten by any of its successors imho, not even by D2.
