I would like to say that D2R visuals are amazing. Sound is great. If i would have imagine what would D2R looked like this would be it. No question. Performance is not great even on high end PCs. Little bit of connection problems at launch, few bugs here and there but overall I’m happy with my purchase. I think the team behind this project did very well.
Unfortunately, there is a plenty of things that didn’t age well with diablo being 20 years old. The mobs running away from you. The use of potions gets tedious very quickly. The loot is unenjoyable. Despite i’m looking for some fun.
But, It’s pretty much just Sorc Fest. Cast Blizz and Teleport. Only option or struggle season.
For example I was trying Necromancer, and I didn’t get very far with that. And i’m not really feel like casting blizzard all day.
Making sure other classes, skills and builds can add up to such level should be standart at day one. Since with such, your working with just numbers. If skeleton Has 100 Hp and does 5-10 Dmg. You just put different number in there and instead of skeleton having 100 Hp, now has 250 Hp and instead of 5-10 dmg now has 10- 15 Dmg. I’m not talking just about necromancer this was just an example of course. There is plenty choices you can make in the class selection screen which will make you pull your hair out.
Obviously, with remasters people expect the same product from original on day one. And lot of people would be unhappy that changes were implemented to their favorite game that they know for 20 years . BUT. There should be like an option to play classic Diablo as it was 20 years ago or choose a bit of modern approach and make the game actually playable from every class and enjoyable overall. Every class, should deserve to have place in Diablo not just Sorc. I really feel bad for people that want to play Barbarian for example and have fun. Maybe you can make a league and change things up a bit. But yeah, I dont think people will be waiting 2 months for that or who knows how long if anything at all.
Maybe for players like me, there will be some love in the future. Im very much looking forward to that.
Actually, you can play every Class. Over the last 20 years I’ve played every class from lvl1 to Act5 Hell (without Pluggy). Its harder for some than others, but you can totally do it.

I agree with changes, but do not want to see D2R changed too much, certainly not become like D3.
Any improvements/changes must be very carefully considered on whether they are “in the spirit” of D2LOD. Even if they bring out new patches, each new patch must be considered against D2LOD.
You’re already talking balance changes which affects the content itself. While the thought is fine and any Non-Sorc could use some help, I think we should adress the technical stone age limitations first.
When we have a basis on the level of PoE we can talk about balancing/improving the content.
It’s like a restaurant talking about improving the menu before you have a dish washer or tables to sit at. The menu from 2001 is the least of our problems.
Absolutely not. It isn’t a remaster or it would be called Remastered. It is Resurrected, specifically so changes can be made to bring the game up to date with the modern era of similar games that have features and QOL things that make D2 look laughable and embarrassing.
The playerbase expects, and wants (from surveys it seems), changes to modernise D2. Some are there already, more are coming.
Yes, mage always has advantage on the start of season, because of Teleport and area damage. But I disagree, that is the only one class in the game. Druid (wind, wolf), Ama (java), Assassin (traps), Necro (bone), Paladin (hammers, shield) have more abilities to avoid immunes and kill bosses fast when you got stuff.
Anyway I want to see another branch of D2R with balance patches, new runewords etc in future too.
To me part of the fun is the discrepancy. Thing is, as you learn the game, you learn to overcome this discrepancy.
When I first started 20 years ago, all I used was the Barbarian and Amazon because it was simple strait forward. I tried other classes but quickly got dismantled. Eventually though I learned how to use what with what against what.
Now I can be just as effective with one class as another. That’s not to say I breeze through the game, but there is no clear advantage for me if I use one over another.
Wait, that’s not true. In 20 years, I still can’t put together a good SP Paladin. He seems to be built for MP, which is cool because the Barbarian’s armor looks WAAAY cooler than that goofy shiny aluminum junk the Paladin wears.
