So i used to play diablo 2 way back in the day. But back then you could just buy items online. Now with the release, you cant really do that without breaking the bank. I’ve found myself really grinding alot to get somewhat decent gear. I used to just buy the anni charm because i have no idea how to get it, so this would be my first time actually acquiring it legitimately. So i figured. Why not look it up. I did and i STILL have no idea what to do. Apparently a Diablo clone will spawn, at some random time, at some random place, on some random Ip and a bunch of other stuff. So is it literally just sit and wait for it to happen? How do i join a ‘certain server’ when booting up D2? I have so many questions, sorry. But any help would be greatly appreciated.
Well, there is a few options.
- Sit and wait, but most likely dclone will never spawn in your games.
- Join a server when some people going to spawn a dclone, but you may never manage to join proper IP because it will be full. However still possible to see dclone spawn, but very unlikely.
- Get 2-3 SoJs and join some group which going to spawn dclone, in that case you will be a part of dclone event with highest probability.
Diablo 2’s server architecture is clustered. There are like 125 physical servers booted together into a matrix. There is a range from somewhat 800-1200 Stones of Jordan that need to be sold to merchants in order to spawn the Dia clone. With the chance of spawning one being at the minimum and the maximum means there MUST spawn one. Inbetween it’s randomized and could or could not happen with a rising chance per soj. When the Dia clone spawns, he resets this counter back to 0. This counter is for 1 physical machine(server) within this matrix. When he spawns, he spawns for every open game hell-mode on said machine no matter if hardcore, softcore, ladder etc. You can for example read the open socket used by your D2 client to find out which machine you play on with the last 3 numbers of the IP being equal to the number of the machine. So when someone says dia will spawn on server 50, you’re looking to play a game on the server with the IP’s ending xxx.xxx.xxx.50
Ok i kinda understand that aspect a little bit. So where do i go to ‘monitor’ where people are trying to get him to spawn? I really want a chance at finally getting this but the process is new. Is there a certain app or website i need to go to that i can see the server? or how many soj’s have been sold?
this process is crazy in current internet enviroment. somehow need to be easier and more clear on how this event can be triggered.
for real. is there anywhere on battle.net where you can look up precise instructions for triggering the event? or has it all been trial and error for the past 20 something years and this is what everyone has come up with?
they should literally make it so you sell 5 soj in your own game and he spawns.
ive been farming since release every day and still have not found 1 soj. how on earth are people doing it lol
There are multiple methods for spawning Diablo Clone. Here is the official guide:
#1 Dupe 125 Stones of Jordan (not the real Jordan) and sell to Charsi. Relatively easy but requires duping method.
#2 Forget D2R, play WoW instead. Join 40+ man raiding party led by streamer. Admission 1 SoJ, preferably one that was duped or botted, as per tradition.
#3 Get hot IP. Play game by alt tabbing out of it. DDoS Blizzard server until it breaks and an Anni pops out.
#4 Trade for Anni. Get Mephisto’s soulstone instead. Complain on forum and ragequit.
#5 Wait a year. Buy Anni for $5.
I don’t know is there any web monitor for sold SoJs. But you can join discord groups of some famous streamers and try your luck there.
