Yeay no worries, it will be saved on blizzards servers. Doesnt matter if you uninstall the game
Same for offline saves, stored on your comp
I’d like to add to this; if you have offline saves from old D2 you can transfer them to D2R without problems.
Wait a second. Does that mean that battlenet launcher doesn’t backup my offline saves? So if i format my drive, i lose my offline characters? I never thought about that, just figured they’d back them up anyway, not like they can’t afford storage.
Your saves are here (offline) : C:\Users\UserName\Saved Games\Diablo II Resurrected
Why the hell blizzard should keep a copy of your offline saves, make no sense.
Anyway they could afford storage but better keep money right ? i’d prefer they buy new servers instead, but that won’t happen either, money money money
Same reason Steam does it for many of my singleplayer games, so i don’t lose them in case something happens with my pc, i switch to another one or simply because it’s so convenient to install a game +1 years later and be able to continue where you left off.
Having to backup my saves myself is not the end of the world but i guess i expected better from blizzard(yeah, i know, stupid me).
Actually they have always been very conservative on database space (its not so much an issue of disk space for them). This has been reflected all these years in their reluctance to increase stash sizes (**) and, most notably, on their policies concerning character saves; e.g., the only reason we no longer risk getting our characters automatically deleted due to inactivity, is because they reduced the maximum number of characters per account to 20.
(**) This reluctance will most likely continue with D2R, and I suspect the constant player requests to increase the number of shared stash tabs beyond the current three, will be ignored – just like they always have been in the past.
Make no sense, with 1 CD key of D2 you could create as many account you wanted to ; had 6 full myself, make more than 20chars …
