i was farming with my level 87 sorc with elite gear, disconnected from server (the messege was unable to connect to server) and died.I hope u bring my character back
I’m sorry but with all these starting problems, people loose all kinds of stuff, why play hc? I guess you noticed they had a lot of server problems what do you expect?
Pretty sure in the original D2 when you got DC’d you instantly got kicked off the server and couldn’t die. I could be wrong but sure I read that somewhere.
If this person died while disconnected then obviously D2R does not work the same and that is a big issue for HC players, server issues or not.
Blizzard don’t know what is happening. They see a network connection that might have been stopped, or one that might get timeouts. It shouldn’t be a save your ass button to alt-F4 or otherwise cut your connection to Blizzard, so you don’t immediately stop playing as you disconnect. There’s a grace period of some seconds, and if you survive those, then you’re logged out and fine… Otherwise you’re dead.
I play hardcore myself. Sucks to die due to reasons out of your control. But pretty sure they never bring anything back regardless of reason for death. Would open up for exploitation and create a lot of manual work to try and figure out which ones to allow resurrection.
Being a pure HC player myself I feel your pain. I’ve lost quite a few HC characters throughout the span of many, many years playing D2, including my lvl 88 necro two weeks ago due to a sudden disconnect.
Allow me to provide you with some solace by boosting your new character and provide you with some useful gear like an Insight and a Spirit sword. Seek me out if you want: dazzed#1370. I usually play in the evening, EU time
D2 was my first game where I discovered how exciting and sometimes nerve-wracking Hardcore mode can be, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
The idea of having just ONE life in a game that can be brutally unforgiving when not paying attention keeps me very alert and most of all; always wanting me to come back and play some more.
