Downtime reason in game would be cool

I see the server is currently down. As a software dev myself, and pressure for early release, I’m not that surprised for a fresh game. We have no clue as to why. Could also be people DOSing servers or similar too for all we know.

Anyhow… Just wanted to thank you for a great reproduction of D2. While D3 eventually got decent, I still like the second better. Where they dared to make very different mechanics and wasn’t all locked up into everything being close to the same behind the scenes to make balance between builds and classes. And where talent builds actually mattered and lack of respec created endless source of replayability. Sadly respec option eventually made it into D2 too.

But as there seems to have been some server instability, and there’s probably downtime for maintenance anyway, would be cool if you could give players a heads up in game. Instead of just “Cannot connect to server”, connect to news API and if the issue is known print that you know it is down with best available estimate of when you expect it to be available again. Battle.net app would also be good to have info in, so you didn’t have to start the game to check if it’s back up or not.
