Drop rate problems

Im play hard about 3 weeks in 12/24 mode, best high rune was 1 damn MAL
Before last patches nice runes drops about 1 mal-vex in 1 week…
And now i have 3 cathan armors in ONE drop from Andy on hell with 400 mf
what the HELL is going on with this game?

wait and see how crazy dinosaurs around here will start to swear your family because you even had the courage to even ask that. beware, for those crazy-dynos D2 is a religion, so better not say something wrong about it.

p.s. me and a lot of other players reported lot of times that loot is totally broken, MF does not even count, you can run 100MF or 600MF, is the same. HighRunes stopped drop at a moment, not saure how it is now cause a stopped playing the game because I saw no sense to spend time farming nothing.
Anyway, they will alyways tell you: I found 2xBER and 3xLO and a JAH this week, so loot is ok. because it seems that only a part of players are affected and in this case even Blizzard do nothing because even they say: ok, when some players found something seems to be ok.
a, and almost forgot, crazy-dynos will also advice you to farm 20 more yaers(to be sure that have enough proof), make an excell file with what you have farmed, and then come back to forum to discuss.

Seems people will never understand what RNG is…

Rune drops don’t take in account MF.
I played 8-12 hours in total in the last 2-3 weeks(in total not daily  ) and dropped 1 Jah, 2Ohm, 1 Vex(Ancient Tunnels and Trav all in 5+ players game on battlenet)…It’s all about LUCK, farming the right areas and clearing speed, but mostly it’s only about LUCK. Like when you play a slot-machine.
What areas are you farming? What build are you using? What is your clear speed? Are you farming solo or are you joining games with lots of players? What is your strategy?

one thing to know is that the less mf you have, the more chance you have of dropping runes. let me explain:

runes are basic white items. so the more mf you have, the more your magic object discovery grows, so the less white object you have.

take a test, open a cow with your 400% mf kill the cows and look at all the color of the items. after redoing a cow and removing your mf to the maximum and you will see a lot more white object.

today the runes are orange in color but originally it was white. And the color has been added so that we can see them better but it remains white base.

to tell you since I started the beginning of October, in softcore I dropped 2 x cham, 1zod, 3vex, 1ber, 2 x sur and 2 ohm. and many ist, pul, mal and um
and in hardcore 2 x jah that I started 3 weeks ago.

all this while playing 5-6h / day

I’ve played more or less 5 hours per night (more at weekends) since release up until a few weeks ago (getting bored now). Highest rune I’ve gotten or seen is an Um. Only 4 endgame usable uniques/set items in that same time too; Laying of Hands, String of Ears, Magefist, TrangOuls Gloves.

That’s my lot. However I play SSF so maybe this is normal.

Anyways, 7 Days to Die released patch Alpha 20 so I don’t care any more, I’ll probably be drifting back to that game to add to my thousands of hours. This might be goodbye D2, for now.

And some will never understand what unacceptable RNG is. Just saying.

MF has no effect whatsoever on the number or level of runes that drop in the game.

This is misinformation dude. No offence. Hope you are not doing it on purpose.

Runes, Keys, Organs…all orange items are in their own category. Their drops are not influenced by MF.
TC(treasure class) for runes starts at Runes 17(for Zod) down to Runes 1.It has nothing to do with white base items and their TCs. Just check the game files and the loot tables.

some people will never undersatand that computers generates “RND” using software. There is no “Universe_GetRND” function available.

I’ve been a software developer for almost 35 years. It is a fact that a large number of RNG algorithms around today (including those in several popular runtime libraries) are actually not truly RNG. It is difficult to guarantee a 100% random starting seed for example. Furthermore plenty of such algorithms are actually broken. It is quite difficult to guarantee a truly random RNG function.

Thing is it is very difficult to prove this for any given algorithm without access to the code.

Please read and understand what I am writing, I never said that the mf had an influence on the runes on the contrary I said that he had not seen any that I advise him to remove as much as possible the mf that 'he has. Also if the runes are considered basic white items. you please reconsider your elements before answering.

look at this image of a rune at 1.10 the name of the item is in white and not in orange.

If MF has no effect in Runes, why advise him to remove all his MF?

This statement by you is not true.

They aren’t.

what I am saying is that the more mf you have and the more magic object you drop, hence the mf logic and I guarantee you that the runes are basic white objects and not in a separate category. therefore less mf = more white object on the ground.

It’s a design choice dude. They only modified them to make them stand out, but the TC(treasure class) was always different.
Please…understand…runes are not and have never been in the same category as white item bases. They are not in any way influenced by the amount of mf you have.

True.

True.

False.

I think we have determined the source of the problem. (Error discovered between chair and keyboard).

Thanks for the ‘debugging’ dude :stuck_out_tongue:

ahahah no there is no problem between the chair and the keyboard. I’m pretty sure the runes are considered white objects. I have always done the ilvl 85 zones with less than 100 mf and I always drop a maximum of runes hence my logic

Debug error report has been rejected by QA team.

Man…why are you not checking the game files? It’s that simple.
You are basing your conclusions on ‘anecdotes’ and personal feelings. Please understand there is no link between how little mf you have and the drop chances. Do you understand the concept of TC(treasure class)? Rune groups are an internal game classifications analogous to TC for other items. They sort runes by value (17 rune groups; 2 in each ascending with Zod alone in 17) and determine which is dropped.

yes that’s what I just checked and indeed the runes are in a Tc grouping together the jewels, stones and runes
