Went to this arcane place, identified the right rune, then went to the canyon of the magi, found the corresponding tomb, fought all the way through that and then got killed by this demon duriel instantly.
Now i don’t understand how to get back to fight it because the horadric staff quest is now marked as complete in the quest log.
Does this mean that i would have to go all the way back to this arcane place, identify a new rune for the genuine tomb, fight all the way through it again and then likely be killed by this demon again?
In Arcane Sanctuary, at the Summoners location, there are 6 floating symbols.
These are the symbols of the 6 wrong tombs. https://www.directupload.eu/file/d/8612/x33odffc_jpg.htm
The real tomb has been identified, but in order to fight the demon again the user has to start from the magi canyon and fight through the entire tomb again. I cannot find any way other than this to advance.
Yeah, i ended up hiring a different mercenary and then just grinding. Find the demon, get a few hits in, lose the mercernary, run back to the town, rehire, stock up on health and ogo back through the portal.
if you dont mind going treasure hunting simultaneously, all the fake tombs are much smaller than the real tomb, and makes it easy to find treasure chests. only fake tomb that is as large as the real one is the one that has the ancient khaa mummy in it
you are right, i misread that. but please dont be talk to me this way, i dont think you would talk to me like that face to face you have been very blunt in all your replies towards me

you can reduce duriels damage by chucking down thawing potions. most of his damage on normal difficulty comes from his holy freeze aura. it gives him a lot of cold damage to his swings. the thawing potions adds 50% cold resist and increases max cold resist to 80%. the effects dont stack but it adds duration by 60 secs for each you drink. drinking 4 should be enough if you are reliant on potions, 6-8 for more prolonged fighting
you can hand some over to your merc by dropping them on their icon. also dont be afraid to feed merc healing potions during combat even if they are at max health. mercs healing potion effect goes only by duration so you can stack them too. for potions in your belt, you can shift+potion num or shift+right click on them to give to merc quickly
If anyone corrects me when I’m wrong I usually say “thank you”.
If someone corrects me but isn’t right themselves, I might very much turn snarky. And I have used “no sh*t sherlock” to a 2m ex-cop who’s a few years older than me and weighs 20 kg more. (he wasn’t retired, he had just switched jobs - so not an decrepit old man )
But you’re right about my second sentence, apologies.
haha ok, i am glad there was no ill intend. just threw me off guard, i might have been a bit sensitive myself
yes, though it is nothing i can quote or citate one time against the minions of destruction, i force fed my barbarian merc with all the healing potions i had while he was knocked up a wall, and to my disdain his health went fully up by some lucky misses. i had no more healing potions to give. but thats when i saw every time the minion hit him, his health quickly went up again. it went for a very long time, then his health started to drop again, so thats when i learned its duration based for mercs. i have been using that trick ever since and see it still works. now sometimes when i see an incoming horde with some scary looking rare monsters, i give my merc healing potions before he engages to prepare ahead
