You should reflect on this statement and try to find the faults therein.
Sure.
It’s a game about fighting monsters to collect items to fight more difficult monsters to find better items to fight even more difficult monsters all while leveling to a set cap.
When making assertions one needs to be precise.
The gameplay loop presented in this post leads to a large portion of items eventually becoming obsolete, thus inventory management is in order.
Therefore I say:
And eventually you reach a point where you are left with the most valueble items in the game. Even if you don’t collect multiple versions of them you are currently struggling with inventory space.
That’s clear for everyone.
Even if they made the character cap one character per account you would be able to play the game. And you could argue to just manage your inventory.
Yet that was never part of the game. It is new and unique only in D2R. People prefer to hold items on mules for different reasons →
They are rare and you don’t want to spend months to find them everytime you create a new character,
they want to later on trade them.
Or they want to have backup gear in case their main dies.
Or they collecting items to craft when their character hits a high enough level.
Or you are farming keys to do ubers
Or you are cubing gcharms or monarch shields(jmod) and need a lot of pgems
That are all valid reasons to keep items you currently don’t use.
Inventory space isn’t enough for most people so yes we complain and they can either fix it or not and some people will move on to other games or go back to vanilla
