2 Ist is about right.
Traded my 926 for 3 Ist, which might a bit cheap.

Paid 2ist Mal for hellforge 889def
Ist Mal-2Ist is fair price for 857ap

I’d say even 900+ but sacred/laquered may be same price due to high str req (and u not always want merc to have andy/botd)

A level 90 mercenary will have 199 Base Str (at level 95 - 208 str). ETH armor has an inherent -10 reduction to their Str requirement. So this puts ETH Lacquered Plate’s strength requirement to 198 STR. So a level 90 mercenary without any Strength gear can wear a ETH Lacquered Plate. And I believe most serious players are about level 90 so that’s a good armor choice. Sacred Armor however cannot be worn by Act 2 mercs without giving them some Strength even at max level.

HOWEVER mercenaries DO suffer from the run/walk penalty of wearing Medium and Heavy Armor. This may be slightly problematic when you want your mercenary to run up to the mobs you want to engage. The penalty of medium armor is not that visible but heavy armor movement speed reduction is actually visible.

Since Archon Plate has almost the same defense with Lacquered Plate, I believe there should be no price difference between the 2. As they are both very good and have their own advantages.

Ist+Mal for non-superior versions seems fair as long as it is close to max defense (otherwise a good Balrog Skin can have more defense than a bad Lacquered Plate). Though it seems your Archon Plate is superior since it has 857 Def. And I believe it should be worth a Vex or 3x Ist if that’s the case.

Ok i’ve mistaken laquered plate vs shadow plate.
Non superior eth armor imo has No value (for Treachery lets say you can use 700+ 3sox)
You wont put Lo into armor with less than 850 def. Or if u do that, it’s a waste of rune.

I saw people wants to sell their eth Forti with less than 2k def - No one will buy it for more than half of it’s rune value.

Fortitude in Max Def ETH Archon Plate = 2358 Def

Fortitude in 15%ED Superior ETH Archon Plate = 2479 Def

What is the difference here??? 2479-2358 Def = 121 DEF

Non superior eth armor imo has No value

As long as it’s close to max defense, it has nearly the same value for the purpose of Fortitude.

Fortitude already has 200 ED%. The 15% ED from superior only makes it 215% ED.

I’m not saying Superior is a useless trait. I believe superior armors (especially 15%ED) should be significantly more valuable. But it’s not important when the runeword you are making already has 200 ED% in it because it adds so little then. If you are making Chains of Honor for your merc ofc go for Superior to get some value there.
