Expansions, Future Major Updates, Evolution?

Will D2R evolve in any way or just remain in current state with minor bug fixes, patches and alike in the future?

i think they should start applying fixes and improvements after they get the server issue ironed out. theres allot of good suggestions online… they can do it one small step at time.

  1. they should rebalance the mercenary to make it more useful. e. g. make the act 1 merc able to use Amazon weapons and crossbow or just make Amazon available to hire. act 3 merc give him more useful spells like blizzard and meteor etc

  2. add more items in the game. maybe add more types of items, more runework etc

  3. complete act 4 story instead of only having just 3 quest. add act 4 assassin mercenary (i think this was planned originally if y talk with the act 3 assassin, she was on her way to act 5). i know assassin is an expansion character, but i think it was a planned surprise :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

i think these changes will not break the game in my opinion, it will complete the game

Sounds to me that people want mod support back in the game. All suggestions listed can be fixed and implemented with mods. If this version of d2 is to survive as long as original then it need mods. I mean in 10years you prob want some kind of way to update graphics and resolution.

Mods are okay nowadays. But I opt only for mods for SP mode.

I also want improvements for the MP-Version however. All at first an Option for Personal loot.

And an Act 4 Assassin-Merc sounds great. Other remasters added DLCs and expansion, why shouldn’t it be possible for D2r? (The age of… -Games of come to mind.)

On the other hand, D4 is on the way, however. But all Diablo-games are good on its own. (D1 don’t need a remaster, however, imho.) They can always stay parallel to each other, incuding DLCs and expansions for all of them imho.

I would like new expansion chapter. Same the LOD did back in the days, at least

My most sought after feature would be the option for KB+M to use the same “one button” direct casting method that the controller has. Having only 2 skills on your mouse button and having to switch others in and out on the fly to use them is a nonsense in 2021. Controller gets it right, and well done Blizz for that. But we need the same controls for KB.

I would also like more stash space and for basic house-keeping items like Pots and Gems to stack.

yes, maybe another act (act 6) to connect to diablo 4 or they can just go old school, time travel back to diablo 1 dungeons

Not only Act, but all the goodies that LOD brought into standard D2, including new character :)))

i know im going to piss you off but D2 ended with LOD. i know your feelings dont want it but thats how it is. if you want a follow up theres D3. thats how it was meant to be until gen z karen and stoopid people went full joe andmade the game horrible.

D1 = kill diablo and the madness he brought to tristram
D2 = kill baal who was trying to wreck havoc through the continent and kill his demonic family
D3 = the angels went crazy and karen took over the game.
D4 = world of warcraft
D2R = D2 but with D3 interface and loot table. karen also took over D2R at this point in time

Utter nonsense. If D2R sold enough copies you can bet your backside there would be expansions and DLC forthcoming. Money talks and it’s all about numbers.

and who are you to try t boss the ones feeding you a game? we are over 20 million players that are here for the memory and fun of it, just liek peopel went into BC wow.
AGAIN its a YOU problem. the sequel goes d1, d2, d3 and world of diablo 3. if youre not happy about reliving one of the greatest dungeon crawler ever there is always poe, wolcen and many others.

if your feeling are hurt because we just dont care about them its a YOU problem once again. D2 lod 1.14 is the final update. either accept it or go play d3 like a grown kindergarten kid ok? we dont need your useless tantrums because youre not calling the shots.
you want more content? become a game dev and make your own dungeon crawler.

If they didn’t add classic + like the wow classic community wanted I don’t think they will extra things to d2r, maybe small fixes, they work on d4

You are the only one bossing here. DEV will have final word. You are not the one to decide what will be final and what not for D2R

I sincerely doubt “Something Big” in the form of another expansion. There is no point in counting on new chapters, characters, etc. … in fact, the new character would somehow pass, but not act it would disturb the story in my opinion.
But a small DLC’s, with a huge base of ideas which are the mods of the original D2 as well as other titles in this genre 3X YES.
We are talking about Diablo 2 Resurrected, a new title. Insult, frustration and other such behaviors testify only to those who use them … because D2 so adored and perfectly still exists and everyone can continue to play it without fear of everything that is new.
