F-keybindings not working

Hi everyone,
I cannot assign keybindings for skills to the F-keys. I opened the skill tree, moved the cursor to the skill and pressed F1, but all that did was open my volume control. F-key plus fn did not do anything either, other F-keys don’t work either.
Looks like Windows 10 is preventing DIIR from changing the function of the F-keys. Any idea how to solve this?

Unfortunately, I haven’t found a solution yet.

You cannot assign a shortcut in the skilltree. You have to do this in your skillbar outside, open it and choose your skill you want to shortcut, then press any F-Button.

I was able to assign a function key shortcut, but then I w?
as unable to activate it! Is there some trick to it

For example, i bind my Frost Shield on F1 for the right mouse button. When i’m in combat, press F1, Frost Shield is selected on my right mouse button, i press the right mouse button, frost shield gets casted. Switch back to my other skill.
