I have the same problem : failed to initialize graphics device
Motherboard sabertooth X58
Intel i7 950
Windows 7 pro
Nvidia GeForce 1050 6 GB
8 Go Ram

I have just bought Wibdows10, DII, and Parallels and done all the installations. Have Radeon RX 580 8 GB which may be throttled to less that the 8gb memory, Windows works. Battle net comes up OK. It’s just that I get the “can’t initialize graphics device” message and that’s it.
I play DIII under MacOS and that works just fine. I wanted to play DII (son said it’s cool), but didn’t twig it’s Windows only. So the expense of Win10, Parallels on top of DII is a bit much and depressing if I can’t get it to run.

Same problem here.
Running the actual version of Parallels Pro on Moac OS Ventura (Macbook Pro 16 M1). VM hast 16GB memory & 8 GB for graphics.
Dxdiag says it’s all fine and graphics adapter is capable of running DirectX 12. Other games are running perfectly smooth.
Any ideas why D II fails to initialize the display adapter??
Every hint / thought will be appreciated.

Playing through virtualization like through Parallels is not supported and may also be the cause of this issue. This is not something we can assist with, but maybe another player has an idea on how to get Diablo II: Resurrected running on a Mac.
