Hello,
I often see that fire build is bad for hell due to monster immunity, although, the fire druid have 2 spells who deal physical damage also.
Do you think this kind of build is viable for hell?
Hello,

You can finish the game with any build but fire builds tend to get a bit frustrating because fire immunity is the most prevalent.
You could use it to farm the Mausoleum for a change of scenery since that area has no natural fire immunes and is a lvl 85 one.
Sadly no, fire based skills require too many synergies, when wind side of the elemental skills buff each other and gives you both, cold and physical damage, so bascially no immiunity bothers you except some random elite groups, even tho both immunites on the same mob are quite rare
Well, when you look at it, if you put 20 point into the 4 fire skill, you have synergy for fire and physical damage, that’s why i ask.
Normally, fire is fire, but druid have 2 fire/physical spell so. Any of you tried it to see if it’s that bad?
Well, I’d say it;s not as BAD but it’s also not good. When goes to the elemental skills wind based ones, are bascially best. Tho phys+fire damage builds usually work for the werewolf/bear forms because of armaggedon skills being useable in both forms.
Yeah i’m interested in that build too, but i read that armageddon is not good and don’t deal any good damage so, i don’t know.
Do you know some kind of build for that? Cause on the internet, there are lot’s of build but for project diablo, and the spell are not all the same so they don’t work on here.
It’s really all about on which damage you want as your main. If you want mostly fire damage with physicall support, focus on armageddon synergies, and give just some points to werewolf ones, if not, the do the opposite way.
A werebear armageddon seems amazing, you can tank and do fire damage. Too bad i can’t cast hurricane in werebear that would have been even better.
I will try that then, thanks for the advice. I’m tired of simple caster.
I was planning a Fire Druid build with 20 points in one of the Wind skills just for Fire immune enemies. Would that be viable? I don’t want to go down the Armageddon path because every video I’ve watched to date rates that skill as the lowest tier possible. That is, it is garbage.
True armageddon isnt that great, but nearly as bad as poeple make out to be. Remembert that a lot of people here play optimized builds. There is nothing wrong with trying it out. Especially now without ladder.
I’ve done both fire and “wind”. Both are plenty viable in hell. Volcano does enough physical damage to kill fire immunes, though it can be a little slow at times. Volcano is a great boss killer.
It’s plus skill dependent like any caster build so have some decent gear.
When I was building a Frost Mage, I shopped around at level 24 for a Staff with +3 Blizzard on it, just to get by. What is the Druid equivalent of doing that at around the same level? I mean, what kind of item could I shop for that has +skills for a Druid on it?
Hello,
I am also doing a fire druid. Since volcano and molten boulder can kill fire immuns, which one of both is better for fire immuns? (I know that both are slow in killing in general)
Since they synergize each others physical damage I’d max them both and while you’re going the fire druid route I’d just max their other synergies as well
Fire druid is mostly an all or nothing choice to be honest.
If you MUST choose, I’d keep Molten Boulder since it’s easier to max its synergies and have points left for whatever adventures you are planning.
I still remember playing as a kid, after the expansion came out, seeing Armageddon being the ONLY level 30 skill that needs another level 30 to unlock. I expected something truly insane. Then i actually got the skill and…yeah…
As for viability, you have to remember you can’t spam spells because all fire skills have a cooldown. Increased cast rate does nothing. That one detail broke my interest in the build. The damage isn’t that impressive anyway to justify those cooldowns.
there are 2 things that makes fire druids pretty garbage
Wait for 2.4, they mentioned to change fire skills of the druid.
Also true of Blizzard.
True. Especially addressing the shared cooldowns.
Anyways, since I last replied to this thread (when I was a noob), I tried taking a Fire Druid into Hell. It wasn’t pretty. As a SSF player my Merc has crap equipment and you need to rely on him to kill Fire Immunes. And there are simply TONS of fire immunes in Hell. All Fallen for example are Fire immune, so right from Act 1 you are up against it. Seems like Fire is the most common immunity.
I respeced to full Wind and it was a thousand percent better. I have yet to encounter an enemy that is immune to both Cold and Physical.
Fire - Cold - Lightning - Poison
it seems a little different. As soon as an enemy is moving in blizzard, it tends to get hit, fissure seems to work a little different.
