Good afternoon! Help with the problem: After logging in and starting the game, everything is OK, the frame rate is around 60. (Geforce 1060 hardware, Intel Core i7 4770k, 16 GB Ram) after 5 minutes, regardless of the situation in the game, the frame rate drops to 25-30. The temperature of the processor is 40 C, the video adapter is around 62 C. It becomes impossible to play. What to do?
Hello,
How many giga have you on your VRAM? Also what is the usage of the cpu and gpu after the fps drop?
Memory is 3 GB, the fact is that even changing the graphics settings to the minimum values does not change the frame rate. (CPU is loaded by 25-30%, GPU by 90-95%)
Yes, but you must restart to have certain change to apply.
Try put it on medium or low, restart the game and retry. For example, if you change the texture in game, your vram will not decrease, you’ll need to restart the whole game to apply.
glad to hear its not only me and a few others ho replayed on my post, all of the moredators here blame our hardware and ask us to post screen shots here altho you cant post links on forums,
all of them are 1st day on the job or something
he already said “changing the graphics settings to the minimum values does not change the frame rate”
Yes i understand, but changing the graphics settings and stay in game doesn’t change everything (read all the settings,it’s written in game).
IF it’s a VRAM bottlleneck, the fps will drop or the game will crash, to avoid that, you need to lower the texture settings, and this settings only change when you restart your game, that’s why i said this advice to him.
Computer gaming is complicated. The game have problem i know, but i manage to make it work with little workaround. For that, you need to know what the problem is (not enough vram, driver not updated, overlay software interaction,…).
When you know what the problem is, you can often find a workaround. I know it’s not normal and we didn’t need to do that to play properly but it’s like that so i deal with it and use my brain (even if it’s not a big one )
I posted a similar issue a few days ago here in the technical forums but it didn’t get any traction. I’m hoping one of these posts does, seems like there are a few of us with similar issues.
What I posted:
I’m playing on a desktop but also seeing well under 100% GPU utilization. It seems when I first load into a game I’ll get above 100 FPS with GPU utilization above 90% (where it typically is for other games), within a few minutes my game hovers around 60-65 FPS with GPU utilization around 40-50%. I’ve seen my FPS drop to mid-40s when the action gets heated. I’m playing at 1440p with a 144Hz monitor.
I’ve tried different graphic pre-sets from low to very high but my FPS does not change (I don’t notice any graphical change either which is strange). I’ve tried both windowed and full-screen mode but no change to FPS. I feel something is broken or not working properly. I’ve ran a scan and repair on the game but that had no change to FPS.
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600X
GPU: Radeon RX 5700XT (Graphics drivers are Adrenalin 21.9.2.)
SSD: Kingston A2000 1TB
CPU: Intel i7-8700
GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070
SSD: Extreme SSD SCSI 500GB
on the 1st week i played the entire campaign with no problems what so ever but this week i made a necro i tryed to do it all over again, i play on everything maxed on a 2k monitor, i start with 140 fps everything is fine and dandy but after 10ish min my fps goes down to 20-30 and doesnt matter if i change everything to low my fps doesnt change much, maybe by 5, i can hop zones but its still 20ish fps
The game don’t look like it but it’s a VERY demanding game. Your GPU is great, a little bit better than mine (rtx 2060 super) and i only can play on high. If i put the texture on very high, my vram go to 7.9gigs after 1hours (and i have 8 gigs).
To change the settings like i said earlier, restart the game totally, some settings will not apply if you don’t restart.
If you have done that (restarting), is your driver update (silly question but important)?
From what i read online, even people with 3080 can’t play at high framerate all the time even on 2k. Especially with the fire (like zealot) the game is poorly optimized.
My best advice is lock your fps to 60 and put the settings to high, restart the game and see how it’s doing.
Yeah i have that problem too, not dropping to 40fps tough it’s always 60 but after a while, the temp rise like hell and the usage drop from 80% to 50%.
Like i just said on my last post, try to put the game on high (the default settings) restart and see how it goes. It helped me a lot, cause the fire effect (like zealot) kill the fps like hell for some GPU.
Changing the graphics did not bring results, the same drawdown to 25 frames per second. Here is a screenshot, the GP load is below 60%.
I can’t upload a screenshot here
Thanks for the info, I didn’t think to check VRAM usage! I’ll give try that next time I play (in a day or two). I’ll change the graphics preset from “very high” to “high” and cap the framerate to 60. I’ll monitor temps and utilization on both my CPU and GPU. I’ll report back what I find out.
I copy your link and i saw your sorceress
The game seems to be at 2k no? what’s the resolution you use?
My 1080p game at very high does not look as good at yours. Did you change some settings in nvidia control panel? You have the last driver (472.12)?
EDIT : also check your ram/vram usage. What did you use for monitoring your hardware?
The drivers are the latest, according to your recommendation, I restarted the game after changing the settings, the result is one, after 5-10 minutes the fps comes to 25 frames per second, at the starting 60. (I fixed 60 frames, there is no result)
What resolution you have your game?
The graphics are mediocre, my last battlefield is running at a pre-maximum 50 frames per second. Diablo has very poor optimization, wasted money, it’s impossible to play.
Where do I see Vram? Task manager?
Of course Full Hd, I think it is necessary to put 800 * 600 as in the original))))) to make it work somehow
I use msi afterburner to monitor everything in game, ram, vram, cpu & gpu usage and temp.
Mine was hitting nearly at max, i must have changed it to high.
