Game Not Responding

Hello, my diablo 2 ressurrected will not full run anymore. I press play on the blizzard app and it takes over a minute to open the game and the screen stays stuck on a black screen. It doens’t matter how long I wait because nothing happens and when I click on the game screen, it brings up a not responding message in the header bar. The weird part is when this is happening, cannot open task manager to force close this, a web browser or do anything until the game closes after waiting for ages.

I have reinstalled the game, put the game and app in administrator mode, tried repairing the game even after reinstalling, checked for updates, updated all my drivers on the pc and the game is installed on an NVMe SSD card with more than enough space.

Please help

Hi, i have the same problem!

We have seen a few reports of this come in over the last week or 2 and in most if not all cases the culprit was an AV program interfering with the launch of the game. (Not the only potential cause of issues like this just what we are finding with these current reports)

The first thing you should do is make sure any security software you are running is up to date both the program and its definitions.

The second thing would be to add our games to the exclusion/whitelist/exceptions list for that security program. (We do not have specific steps for the various security programs out there)

From there you can temporarily uninstall the security program to see if it is the source of the issue. make sure to restart the computer after removing it. If the issue persists after restart, you can put the program back on.

If the issue goes away after removing the security program, you can try to reinstall but if the issue returns, you will need to work with the company that makes that particular security software for further assistance.

If the issue persists without that security software, then the source is likely something else. You can try the following:

Try running your system in selective startup mode: Blizzard Support - Closing Background Applications

Create a new administrator account: Blizzard Support - Creating a New Administrator Account

Once the account is created, shut down the computer, wait 60 seconds, restart, log into the new profile and try the app/client.

If that doesn’t solve the issue or at least narrow it down to a specific program, then the final step would be to submit a ticket with system files. Click on your name at the top right of this page, choose support, then contact support. Make sure to include the requested system files on that form.
