Dear, did anyone notice that leveling up to 87 flies perfectly, but to get 88 it already takes the same amount of time as pumping from 1 to 87 … although, according to all tables, increasing the amount of experience required to get level 88 differs from 87 by 10-11% … but it seems to me that by 1000%
90-99 takes over 5500 baal runs at /players8 (or in a 8men game) . Usual baal run takes 2-3 minutes which results in 11000 minutes in best case with no breaks. 11000 minuts = 183,33 hours = 7,638 days.
Either you are talking about a VERY long time ago at patch 1.09 or your story is bullshit. 1.10 got released in 2003 and since then it takes ages to level up to 99 cause they nerfed efficeny of all xp runs.
I think I realized my mistake … I ran to Pindleskin, there is level 87, therefore, pumping to 87 was very fast for me, but now, apparently, I became the same level and it went extremely slowly, because you need to look for a location where the level of monsters is higher … well, this is exclusively my opinion.
To explain this, and why getting to 99 is so painfully slow - there’s a big reason why.
You might’ve noticed that before you reached lvl 25, Act5 gave practically 0 exp at all. The same trick is starting to take effect again.
You need A XP to level up.
Monsters award B XP when slain
Now here comes the crux: Each area assigns a “XP multiplier” to you when you’re in it, based on your level.
The multiplier maxes out at 95% total XP gained (IIRC) which basically means that if a mob is supposed to award 1000 exp, you’ll keep 950 of it.
In Act5 hell before level 25, you’ll be gaining either 5 or 10% exp (can’t remember which) which essentially means that you’re only getting 50-100 exp from a 1000 exp mob.
When reaching lvl 87++, this modifier starts going down heavily again. You’re now gaining around 20%(?) exp from baalruns, and even less from most other sources. Couple this with the fact that baal minions give you loads of exp compared to anything else, and you’ll be getting next to nothing from anything except baalruns.
When you get above level 90, Baalruns (Throne of Destruction) gives you a tiny bit of this multiplier, <10% while getting progressively lower towards level 99. There is one area in the game which is better than Throne of Destruction above lvl 90, and this is Chaos Sanctuary, as its multiplier doesn’t go as low, and you’ll be gaining “much more” exp from there, even though it is very little.
Also, Players8 is heavily recommended at high levels due to the 450% experience gain that you get from it.
I play on battlenet, you cannot register there / players 8
About 20 years ago, when I played the classic D2, locally, I prescribed it there… but now the whole game is on the network, so there is only one thing left - to look for those who need lvl up to 99
I settled in the “Cowshed”, there things are knocked out for the entrance, and the experience goes on normally, and crowds are killed very quickly by an assassin with traps.
Players8 on multiplayer == Create public baalruns/chaosruns.
You certainly didnt read/understand what I wrote about the EXP modifier. “Lvl 85 area” doesnt matter as there IS no higher level area than 85. What matters is the “EXP MODIFIER”.
You’ll get a LOT more exp after lvl 90 by running chaosruns than baalruns, but a lot more exp from baalruns than chaosruns previous to lvl 90.
I understood what you mean, but this is somehow not logical, since the location level is extremely important, and the highest level is baalrun - 99 lvl.
In general, you need to test, exp / hour
Nope, wrong there.
Baal is lvl 99
Diablo is also lvl 99
Throne of Destruction is lvl 85
Chaos sanctuary is lvl 85
Baal’s minions are superuniques on steroids, hence why they give so much exp and “baalruns” is a thing - If you compare baalruns to chaosruns, baalruns are just superior and give a lot more exp.
The problem, and the answer that i’ve given 2 times now is the EXP modifier. EACH act and subzone has its own “instance EXP modifier” that goes from 1% to 100%. the exp modifier means that:
“Characters of a certain level get X% exp in here”.
If a characters level changes, this modifier changes with it. This is why <25 you don’t level from doing baalruns, but 25 and up you DO.
This modifier is also active in super high levels, and the modifier becomes terrible above 85.
Now i’ve tried explaining this 3 times - Throne of Destruction’s EXP modifier is still OK up until lvl 90, after which it turns down to less than 5%. You will get absolutely no exp from doing baalruns after this point, and will need HUNDREDS of them to level.
Chaos sanctuary’s exp modifier will keep at about 10% up until lvl 99. While Chaos sanctuary gives less EXP than Throne of Destruction normally, since your EXP modifier is so much higher than Throne of Destruction, it still gives MUCH more exp.
The best way to level on multiplayer alone above lvl 90 is creating “Chaosruns” and letting people join, while you clear the chaos sanctuary however fast you can on repeat.
