Okay I’m going to be the first to say overall the experience has been positive; but there are some huge gaping issues with classic that just feels like we’re not even being thought about or talked about in the conversation of 2.4 to add all these new things while classic still has issues.
I’ll highlight some of them here:
1)
Server cluster lists - due to the cluster of servers that make up "NA’ or “EU” people often are not on the same server as each other and due to some bug are often on the same NA server but unable to see games made from each other - this seriously screws up the community since the game seems more dead than it is in reality due to people not seeing all the games on their server cluster (na or eu) this has forced users to go to dis cord and organize chant/cs/trades/ ect due to in game trades being a near impossibility due to how restrictive it is for other people to see your game.
2)
Stash size - people of classic have been screaming for the expanded stash (and now shared stash) since LoD came out over a decade ago. Do you realize how lame it is to be able to only store 3x armor sized items in your stash plus a belt and some rings with a 6x4 stash? Its like almost half your players inventory and this is supposed to be enough space for a game that is focused around finding and keeping loot? How do you keep loot on your mf character when you max out after picking up a few things?
3)
Account size - did you guys totally forget about classic players when you made account character limits? Since (2) means we can’t store a meaningful amount of items on a mule; this means players have to make a ton of mules; or throw out items they may want to otherwise keep. I currently have my account maxed and I’m in a weird position of "do I delete my LoD mules with 4-5x the items in it for a new classic mule that can only store like 1/5th the amount of items?
4)
Lack of shared stash - so your telling me your going to tote this shared stash as a way to prevent loosing your items and this great thing for your account - and NOT give it to classic players? So we still gotta make games - throw our shit on the ground - than brb and hope the game doesn’t poof with our gear? Or we need to ask someone that hopefully won’t rip us off for a xfer?
I just feel like the game was “updated for the times” but only on LoD - when there is a large community on classic that has always kept classic alive and going… These classic players are being pushed back onto legacy cuz of the above issues; they can just make more mule accounts on legacy to overcome the stash issues; the game list bug issue also doesnt exist in legacy and honestly - when less people are playing having some pc controlled players running games is better than there being no games cuz the list is bugged and classic players feel ignored; like they didnt get the same updates LoD got and are boasting about as great improvements; classic didn’t get those improvements and it feels bad.

I posted this a few times, but in my eyes classic needs a few things to stay alive.
Some points are congruent with your post.
- Working lobby that shows all games on a realm. Low amount of games makes this crucial to find someone to play with.
- Working private channels so pre-expansion players can meet among themselves.
- Shared stash, optional big shared stash.
- We need new patches, that’s for sure, so i welcome 2.4. There are so many things not working properly at pre-expansion like rare throwing weapons or not working physical damage chars beside ww barb. BUT we need DIFFERENT changes than lod. Pre-Expansion and LoD are basically two different games. 2.4 changes aren’t bad, but i doubt they thought about us.
- Unlimited respecs. I speak for the pvp community that builds high level chars, that potentially get useless when the meta changes with frequent patches.
But most importantly, we need attention. Mention us actively in your efforts to make the game better. Give the players the feeling that pre-expansion isn’t a gamemode that gets zero love by the devs and they will actively play it!

yeah some way of doing a respec asie of the 3 quests would be big cuz once you use those you basically gotta delete a level 90+ barb if you wana change anything it feels bad

yeah exactly. Feels great doing ~7466 cs runs to remake a lvl 94 char when a patch fucks up the skillbuild haha

Yeah its wild how many cs runs you gotta do just to level - to toss that all away cuz things change or you wana try something different - find a new weapon on your barb for example that is better than your last and it becomes a question if you really want to waste a respec to try to use a different weapon type - or a different sorc build cuz patch nerfed you.
Honestly the stash size is so painful; I can’t even store a full pvp switches on my barb its crazy - theres not enough room to even have a few simple setups or swaps - or you fill up your whole inv and now you cant grab any items during chaos… its really bad and feels bad - it would be nice to have options and stash limits that by alot.

The stash seriously needs to have a shared stash tab. I don’t know why on earth they think that a tiny stash with no shared stash tab is desirable and will destroy the feel of classic when we already have updated skills in next patch, set bonus changes and auto gold pick up. I’m personally not even asking for a bigger stash necessarily but rather just a shared stash tab. Larger stash is still welcome though.
As for respecs I would just be happy with a way to farm the token of absolution in classic.

So lets just roll through some problems with this.
I have a pvp barb and stash size is so limited that its hard to keep switchable equipment … and you need to have switchable equipment in order to swap between your 2 handed and 1 handed setup.
So if I want to play say a naga bvb barb (121str) I would need a extra 4 str in order to use a ancient axe (125) - plus I would have to than store my naga and shield while using that ancient axe.
Even worse for battle hammer bvb barb (100str) they need an additional 69str for a mart (169str).
So having swapable equipment just in order to chaos/level is like the bare minimum on a barb. You might have a couple different helmets to help make up these stat differences like a 3x amethyst isn’t unheard of to try and help a bham barb to use a marty for chaos, plus a few different rings, or a pair of leech gloves you could swap to, this all takes space.
Than what if you want to be able to swap between bleeder (twitch+swordback hold) or crusher (rattlecage+grim shield or pav shield) or even sigon for AR boost from the helmet with either gloves or shield… you start filing your inv up very quickly
At the end of the day here the armor+shield swap alone takes up 66% of your inv - plus your helmet swap and cube is the entire stash taken up. You could put your ancient axe in your cube and that leaves you with maybe a pair of leech gloves in your inv and your shield or naga in your inv when your using your ancient axe.
Since there’s no W switch in classic, I would also need to store bo equipment - 2x 1x3 +2 weapons - berserk armor - tarnhelm - amu - dual soj - at this point you have next to nothing for inv space on your character. Lets say you have 2 weapons - one weapon for one setup - one weapon for the other setup - now your getting to the point where your character could be fully loaded.
So the idea here is to expect people to xfer their pvp gear off their pvp characters in order to pvm and find the loot - but not give us a shared stash so we can easily move items around or store more things? Honestly this stash size is kinda killing the game for me cuz I’ve found some half decent stuff that I just cant justify keeping cuz theres no space to keep it.
Playing chaos and only having enough room to store 1-2 armor worth in your entire inv/stash is pretty bad cuz if you pickup one or two items than you need to xfer or exclude yourself from all future drops in the run - its kinda a shitty design to have a stash this small in a item finding and hording game.

Has classic been forgotten? Unfortunately, yes. Hardly any players/games going for it. The lack of game visibility has made even some classic players go LOD or to play something else. I love classic but don’t expect any love for it. They have clearly demonstrated they don’t care about us at all.

part that gets me is we’ve been asking for expanded stash since LoD came out and even in d2r “updated for the times” we still get shafted on the stash.
Nobody ever said “oh man if they upgrade the stash its gona ruin it for me” when people of classic say they want things left alone - they are NOT talking about the stash - god I hope they fix this no shared stash and small stash issue cuz its bs going from LoD character to classic character and seeing the huge difference - why cant we have the same thing? I dont get it.
