How much do you think the price of a SoJ will drop when they change the current way of spawning Diablo clone?
that depens on what they will change. if they just make it a global event, then probably nothing will change. those events will then be hostet at times where the least amount of people are online.
if they cbange the mechanic from soj to something else entirely it will certainly lose a lot of value although it will remain a solid caster ring
oh CONSIDERABLY (and thats a good thing for the casual player base). Basically EVERY Anni you see is the result of 120+ Sojs deleted from the game today, but for only ONE anni in return correction - as many anniās are produced from sojās sold as sellers involved in the niche organized event, but those wont be limited to events organized by only a minority anymore so with it being more accessible to casuals, itās going to be dependent i think on how many anniās are produced in relation to sojās sold.
The cheapest Anniās go for Ohm+ (at the cost of 120+ sojs)
If they change it so that sojās are not needed at all, then every account really only needs 2 sojās to complete any possibly caster build and the price should settle down to Vex+ to Ohm since its rarity is equivalent roughly and still desirable but not being deleted from the economy like runes, and as thousands of sojās will no longer need to be deleted for the creation of a single anni any anniās.
If sojs are still required but its server wide D spawn, then 120+ sojs will actually create many more annis than before if that many ppl are online for spawnā¦obliterating the market value of anni (because instead of 100 sojās creating 1 anni niche minor events being created for anniās it becomes available en masse, it can be 100 sojs = 5000 anniās as an example), making it very accessible for casuals. - Sojās will still be valuable (only perfect anniās will be valuable) and sojās will probably be around Ohm to Lo as they will always have value for builds but theyāre deletion from the game will be GREATLY slowed
Soā¦depending on the change and its relation to whether sojās will even be needed to how many anniās will be produced from soj deletions (if any) it could go from Vex+ to Ohm+ to Lo on the high end. But def not the ~Sur value it has today
For ppl that complain the economy will be in shambles (and other hyperboles) it wont have an effect on the economy, just the value of those 2 specific items - sojās and anni. And the economy will adjust (thereās always a demand for both of these items, especially P anniās, its just not an expensive or profit making item anymore)
Edit: Thanks for Wonka pointing out the very obvious brain fart i had resulting in the edits, but still not changing the point (too) much
this information is wrong sir.
why would they host when the least amount of ppl are online? to stymie the value degradation? its inevitable and if they hoard sojsās to artificially slow its eventual value degradation then public forums can just start hosting easily since it will be global - after all, getting 100 ppl in a blizzard / reddit forum or even when a streamer is streaming and doing āgiveawayāsā to incite a clone spawn for as many of their viewers as possibleā¦social media can get around this SO easily.
It was harder before when 95% of ppl just didnt even know how to do it cause theyāve never had to do something like IP searching before in their life, but with the barrier to entry being removed, there cab be a community events that are logistically easy to organize with no insider knowledge required - have an soj? pipe up and find other with an soj and when you have enough ppl get them all to agree to a time-day since everyone is going to want in on it for mutual benefit
i dont see it being hosted during times of minimum traffic by the minority (like it is now), i see it being hosted during times of HIGH traffic by the majority who ALL will profit - you just need to be able to kill d clone - thats all.
youāre right - the organized events ensure as many anniās spawn as ppl involved in the soj selling - i erred on that partā¦i dont believe it makes much difference on the rest of the point but you are correct in pointing out my mistake - ill have to edit it
well even if it is changed, we wont even know if its gonna involve sojās.
they might even make it single player style.
if thats the case SOJ value will rise due to the search of the perfect anni.
until we know the new mechanics, everything else is just pure speculation sir.
This is also what I am betting on⦠I was wondering if I should invest to get one or two at the current price to use them in my buildsā¦or just wait until they get to a more affordable price once they announce the new Diablo clone spawn mechanics. I donāt need them in order to participate in any anni hunting as I already have a decent one.
i am not sure but i canāt wait for the system to change. the anni system is the bigges bs system in the game. why do i as a player need to join a certain IP class and sell soj in a ācliqueā of smart guys to sell sojs together? this smells really bad to me and i canāt wait for the changes.
good point, but i dont see the soj value increasing even more - thereās already always a search for the perfect Anni and on top its done in a very niche market which is part of the reason for the high value of SoJ today, and while you are correct that it becoming an individual thing will keep the soj value high, i dont see it being even higher than it is now.
I believe the soj value will be tied to the anni value as long as 1 is required for the other. In the past (and in other markets) we see the extremes being pushed further apart - with less than perfect items (anniās/torches) that are available in masse being extremely cheap and the perfect versions becoming even more sought after if the effort to look for them is easier. Casuals will just buy cheap anniās for cheap and sojs will cost little more than those same way keys cost is related to torch cost with P torches being very valuable but keys getting cheaper as more ppl settle for less than perfect torches.
Only a few ppl hunt for perfect gear, most settle for whats āgood enoughā for the cost. i do see sojsās coming down to Ohm value (Vex at the cheapest) and Lo on the higher end (at least at the start) and settling into Ohm Vex after a few monthsā¦
speculation of course
im wondering if i should sell my sojs right now and then try to get new ones when theyāre cheaperā¦i could get a ber for my 2 sojs nowā¦but i do need them as well lol. i dont see 2 sojs being worth a ber in the futureā¦
its residual of a problem from 10 years ago but not nowā¦i REALLY question the design decisions of the mentality to retain systems that have literally no place in todayās system - we arent having an soj dupe problemā¦why retain a system for a dupe problem? for Purists? Purists dont care about systems for problems that dont exist anymore, they care about the feel and authenticity of the game 10 years ago without turning it into a modern game with modern game design elements that cater to different mentalitiesā¦but archaic fixes for issues that dont exist arenāt a concern on anyoneās listā¦
The standards flags from the Ubers could be incorporated? They should serve a purpose. I also collect them lol. Why I donāt know just in case one day they become useful
Price of soj will back to Vex, thats my prediction
Yea, standard of heros might be key to DC event.
I always though that SoJ, without the current Anni mechanics, should be around the same price as a Bk. All aroundā¦with the emphasize on life in the game, Bk could be considered the superior ring.
I think so, too. Highrunes will get much cheaper, too.
If original d2Lod ladder would be any indication, then it will be like one high rune for around 4 Ist. Starting from Vex (Vex was a little cheaper, around 2,5 Ist Iād say).
SoJ will be at about the same price as a mid bk. 4 Ist.
My guess is, that they take out the SoJ completely for the dia clone. SoH is a hot candidate for something similar. Im not sure if collecting SoH right now will help, thoughā¦
I can always hope. Hahaha. I have quite a collection now. Some may call it obsessive!
