Just get a 3soc Mage Plate or Archon Plate for a Pul max and make your own. Much more satisfying to make your own.
I recommend Mage Plate as it is more versatile due to the lower strength req and can be used on more builds and the fact that defense is one if not the most useless stat in D2.

Just no. That’s old news. v1.09 was like that. Since v1.10 it’s been very relevant, especially if you have some buffs. Improving Holy Shield to apply to your total def and not to your shield def only was a huge step in that direction, emphasizing this change (although I think the skill was quite alright before that, too op now).
So basically you are telling the 300-400 extra defense is worth almost a ber in price difference?
I haven’t mentioned anything about prices. They’re a function of the market and are based on people’s needs, opinions, and vanity, not the item’s usability. Just saying that def is by no means useless and 300-400 is a large chunk. On my melee sorc that’s multiplied by a factor of 5 and would yield a 1.5-2k difference at the end. That could easily be the difference between life and death and it would amount to 20% of my total def. So no, not irrelevant.
Extra defense counts in pvp - that’s for ppl are paying for mainly.
In pvm it really dosent matter.
