Craziest part is my tome of portal was exactly missing 3. Now I got 20. Feeling so fulfilled right, like I just achieved my destiny. 
I had gold + potion + arrows from Nightmare Mephisto, then next day I had 3 Twisted Essence Drop from Duriel Hell at once…
I know it’s all RNG but I am not a pure farmer, maybe 2-3 all act boss kills a day, and my drops are all over the place with the 1 in 1000+ chance drops lmao

Protip: If you need arrows, kill baal on hell difficulty, he drops them quite often.
Loot is bugged. On Hell you get maximum Normal wise items.
Anyway, nobody cares, Blizzard is on “do not care” mode. And, all the dinosaurs here will tell you that is random and you need to farm Duriel 20 more years to be sure.
Tell us how loot should work? I was getting elite uniques almost each run yesterday from diablo and baal, but of course sometimes they give nothing for a plenty of runs in a row.
I did 100+ Diablo runs on Hell and I got only items like Broad Sword damage 7-14, Tabar damage 10-20… 0 essence drops from Diablo.
The loot should work e.g. like in Diablo 3. You need an item, you have a possibility to get one for sure, and this “for sure” is important, not need to farm 20 years like in D2R and not find it and say “o, this is random”. Games are about playing the game, like in D3, you can make a build aven if not having BIS items, and play the game. In D2R, maybe bacuase anyway there is no end-game, you need to farm 20 years in the hope of maybe finding the item.
I prefer Diablo 2 system over Diablo 3, what now? 
What item you can’t get and what build you can’t play without BiS items in Diablo 2, bear sorc?
That is not rarest drop.
Just look at Meph drop table for a sec. What do you see there, right after ber rune? Look, it is even ~10 times more rare than ber. Yeah, it dropped for me once… The Legendary Minor Healing Potion.
Successfully playing D2R last month without BiS items. What am I doing wrong?
a ok, so actually you are one the Diablo2R developers. ok, now understand. nothing can be changed because you want to be like this so you beeing the developer nothing will be changed. or even better, you are the game director of D2R and you decide how the game to be and the game is like you want and only like you want, the others opiniosn does not matter.

But you didn’t answer on the most important question. What item you can’t get and what build you can’t play without BiS items in Diablo 2?
I guess, enigma and infinity, because all streamers say you must have those to play.

Wrote already in others posts. Melee builds in D2 were a garbage compared to caster builds, e.g. Zeal Paladin vs Hammerdin. Runewords like GRIEF were introduced in order to put some melee builds somehow in line with caster builds. e.g. go try Cow level in Hell as Zeal without GRIEF/LastWish/maybe Death… For those runwords, e.g. GRIEF and FORTITUDE the LO rune is required(20 years needed for farming a LO), so I am missing 2 LO runes.
Of course, can stick to Hammerdin, actually very cheap to do(Tal, Thul, Ort, Arm runes for Spirit), but is very boring.
Anyway, does not matter, already stopped playing cause already get bored with the game, so no need items atm But is good I was trying this game, becuase I will think carefully if to buy Diablo 4 or not, seeing how Blizzard is threathing its players(with server stuff, how is listening to the community… …)
Ah, melee can’t play without grief and forty, as well as casters can’t play without enigma and infinity.
Is Death, Oath, Duress is a joke or expensive runewords to you for melee character? 
Not to mention nearly free uniques like Azurewrath, Grandfather, Lightsabre, Lacerator, Stormlash, Astreon’s, Heaven’s light, Redeemer, even Fleshripper and etc.

This is the feature D3 absolutely miss: character purpose diversity. Godly items means that you character can go beyond it’s purpose.
How about go Andariel as zeal? Dou you still need 2 Lo runes?
so now I shall play the game as you want not as I want? I want to play with Grief ok? I have Oath but is not enough, Death can not do because also VEX rune does not drop in this game.
If you want play with BiS items, then please prove that you deserve it, show some respect and dedication to get it. And where did I force you to play like I want? It’s you forcing to play only with grief everyone, maybe for somone beast, botd, last wish or doom is BiS?
