Hello,
I made a pala vengeance for the tankiness of the build with the synergies. Well, it doesn’t tank as good as i thought.
Yes you can take few hit, ok, but you need to hit way more to kill something, so you stay way longer in melee and in the end, it’s the same but you’ve just stayed longer.
I’m in nightmare, i have 75% resist everywhere and 75% chance block. When i’m surrounded by 5-10 enemies, i’m already dead.
If i was a hammerdin, they would have been dead before reaching me and i wouldn’t have taken any damage.
It’s sad, i wanted a real tank and i’m disapointed…
- You need def in order to evade more.
- The chance of enemies hitting you is also depending on your character’s level.
- Your block rate is reduced if you run instead of walk.
- Your def is zero if you run instead of walk.
- You can reduce physical damage with certain items (String of Ears, Vampire Gaze, Vermungos, Shaftstop, Harlequine Crest)
- Vitality is key in order to survive damage spikes
- Make sure to pop Health pots early so to start regen before it is too late.
- Kill them before they kill you.
- Try to avoid and evade projectiles.
- Pick your battles.
If you want to play tanky classes, you might want to play bear, smiter or Energy Shield Sorc.

you are doing something wrong then. either you are super underleveled, you having a bad build or you have the wrong gear. I leveled a smiter pala from 0-82 in the last 2days, no problems at all, killed hell baal alone with lvl69. Also no problems with trash either. I would recommand you to watch some guides, for example search for “mrllamasc” on youtube, he even has a vengeance pala guide up.

You should have 90% resist, if you are playing tank. Also you need 4-5k hp. It is possible, for sure.

Yep keep vigor and charge to move around quick in walk mode. Pally can solo hell easily with just that and junk gear.

What level do you think i should go there?
Because for what i’ve read, you need to be lvl 40 to finish the act 5 in NM, so lvl 35 for act 1 seems appropriate for me. But i don’t know, i never goes that far 20 years ago
Fallens from blood moor are level 36.

imho, you should xp in norm till you hit 40-42, then you can equip the first exceptionnal items like zaka, titan, jalal, etc. It really makes the diffrence.
Get a look to some wiki too (can’t post link) you can find the monsters lvl by areas, can be helpfull.
There you see that monsters at the end of A1 nm are lvl 40-41, so you probably dont want to “end” Act5 nm at lvl 40…

I’m gonna try that then. Do you think salvation is needed for a real tank?
You managed to play the game ? WOW!!!

No, while it’s offline i came here for advice
But you can still play offline though
Not sure about salvation, but resist auras have embedded +to max resist. I could be wrong, but it looks extremely profitable.

Want a tank character? Look for guides on the immortal sorceress. Literally unkillable.
I just look it up it seems to be a pvp build, i only play pvm.
Wait, what? All my chars hit Nightmare around 35.
I have seen it definitely tank in pvm. But, it not very effective and damage dealing
That is sort of a joke build tbh. If you want a real tank of a character AND deals massive damage. I’d go Javazon.
