I need help finding a Body Armor Base (ilvl)

I spent the past 2 days farming cows on nightmare/hell looking for a 3 open socket Full Plate Mail armor, cubed every white one that dropped (I got about 6 or 7) all of which got either 2 or 4 sockets. I checked diablowiki for ilvl requirements and it says from nightmare drops i will get 3 sockets guaranteed from Larzuk but when I tried it with a nightmare cow lvl drop it gave me 4 sockets on it. Can anyone point me to where it would have to drop to roll 3 sockets from larzuk? Or maybe tell me where I can check at which ilvl it will only roll 3 sockets from that quest? I cannot take farming cows anymore :frowning: Any help is much appreciated.

Well, I have read that items found on normal difficulty can have maximum 3 sockets, so maybe search there for a white full plate mail? Though if memory serves, the full plate mail itself tends to be rather rare drop itself in normal mode, i don´t think I´ve seen it drop that much, if at all…

also, I found this brand new site diablo dot io today, it has rather well-made and easy to use item browser with many variables to select. Lot of fresh air after frequenting Arreat Summit for as long as it has been around.

Edit1: Oh, i forgot about Silospen´s Drop Calcutor. I quickly checked out, and the odds for finding white full plate mail were in tens of thousands of digits on normal, but in 4K digits on nightmare cows, so if you´re tired of trying them, maybe try elsewhere? It reads here that, for example, act 2 sewers in nightmare have sameish odds as cows.

My question is, why does it have to be a FPM? There are much better armors for that strength requirement, if defense matters to you. If it doesn’t use any lighter armor. Besides, FPM is listed as heavy, meaning that it reduces your walk/run speed and drains more stamina.

I didnt even try normal because I dont know if it can even roll 3 sockets there x(. Also made a trade on d2io for white ones but I will check out their item browser and go run sewers a bit just to change things up. Been using silospen to find where to best farm for the armor in the first place but yeah, 1:4100 from nightmare cows is sort of bad considering I also have to roll 3 sockets afterwards so I was hoping to be able to Larzuk it. Thanks for the advice though, a2 seems like a much nicer place right now compared to neverending cows and popping kurast armor racks.

Edit: @unnamed I want to use it as enigma base so only looks really matter for me and FPM looks so good on necro in resurrected… Not really interested in min/maxing defense as im playing summoner necro and have my tank army in front but I guess I could settle for the 140 strenght req on the 3 os chaos armor I have laying around if I keep having to farm for days :(.

I see. Style matters  I’d try normal and cubing then. IIRC Larzuk adds max number of sockets whenever the item level is in some range, so that drops in acts IV and V in normal will still get 4 sockets from the quest, which is kind of unfortunate for you. I’d clear the WK in normal and try cubing. If the socket number is limited to 3 for normal, you should get 2/4 = 50% chance of getting 3 OS. I am not sure if that’s the case though.

Oooh, 50% seems really nice compared to whatever it was on nm cows  I will try WK, thank you! And yes, style matters, need to keep that skelly morale up after all.

How’s it going? I just found a white FPM in nightmare. If you’re still trying to cube one, it’s yours

I just dropped one from 2nd baalwave in normal but sadly it rolled 4os :(. If you still have it I’d be happy to trade for yours though, surely one of these times it will roll 3 sockets. Just add #Dowerk2875 if you are ok with trading, I’m going to play tomorrow aswell and I’d appreciate it :).

Edit: After many failed rolls I finally got a 3os one from unnamed which dropped in ancients way on nightmare, thread is closed
