If your game is crashing often, try allocating virtual memory (Paging file)

In short: go to control Panel > System and Security > System > Advanced System settings (on the left) > Advanced > under “performance” click settings > advanced
Here you can allocate virtual memory. In my case, I selected the disk Diablo II R is on then choose “system managed size” then clicked “set”.

Before this I could not run diablo if I had internet browser on or even discord. and even if I closed everything else, every time I started a new game or went through a portal there was a chance for crashing.

Thanks to other players who posted this somewhere in US bug report forums. I am reposting the solution here since it was tough to find and it worked for me. No guarantees that it will work for you but please give it a try if your crashing often.

Could be worth a try… i’ve noticed the insane amount of RAM usage in D2R so i’ve already thought it would have something to do with the RAM in some way… would make sense if it was the VRAM allocation…

Tryed, not working, still the same crash. I set the page file to “system managed” but the same.
For me is crushing with Delirium Helm on Mercenary(Act 2) and Zeal palaqdin at full weapon speed.

Tried it , still crash.

posted this a week ago in some threads already. i had crashes every 30 min, since i fixed the virtual memory, no more crashes BUT:

i had to raise the value to more than 10 GB, if set to 6, still crashes.

Worth a try , gl guys
