yea, the loot system is very archaic and needs overhaul at all, just like many other aspects. there are so many good ideas to bring diablo 2 to the year 2021 while still keeping authentic experience. after the first days of playing online, i noticed that all the nostalgic things that should keep the game “authentic” were mostly just annoying.
i seriously love this game and thats the reason why i think it deserves way more care from now on - for now it just feels like a remaster made by lazy greedy people; my honest opinion. since im an oldschool gamer just like probably most people playing d2r, im not easily blinded by nice graphics. it even makes me look closer at the gameplay. a good look is simply a nice addition for this remaster, but should never stay the core of this release - and that is exactly what it is…no need to tell me that a remaster is defined by keeping the game itself original - we all knew what was coming up for us. and now it is the time to make this game really great again -.-
With public loot you are already running the risk that someone else will pick up the best items from you, public loot does not care that you have the highest MF. PLoot will not make any difference to you, except for guaranteeing your chance at the item was the exact same as everyone else’s.
And anyway, if you ran with 500 MF then the person with vita/def/damage did most of the work on the boss, so who deserves the loot more?
most stupid purist answer! Diablo 2 is boring as hell alone. and playing solo for getting gear is bullshit! this is why you do not find any games in this game. cz all MP games are just trading and its bullshit!
The only problem i have is its to hard to steal loot on xp game, it was easyer on the old diablo… Everyone is rushing on it and idk why i never get a single thing
Not a single char lost to crash/bug. not a single game will ever be 100% stable, and if, theres always the possibility that your PC crashes. So whats the point to play hardcore then?
But you have the CHANCE to pick up. In your scenario you don’t have that chance.
And THATS the reason why play with vita/def/damage gear in Baal Runs and expect EXP, and do MF Runs with MF Gear to expect LOOT. Simple as that.
No, its not. The problem why you don’t find any hell games - especially in hardcore - is the egoism of the other players.
Fun Fact, happend some days ago : CS run, all was fine, running to seal from De Seis, 3 guys where still standing in the spawnzone, extremely brainafk guy opened the seal. Well…i don’t think i need so say more: 3 RIPS.
Thats the reason why i stopped playing Hell MPs. In Hell EVERY single shit can be your death.
KEKW. Well, this is like defensive driving: you sort of have to be in a mentality that every player with you is mentally handicapped, and will cause your death. It really helps
That’s like a drunk driver saying I drove drunk one night but no one got hurt. Just because you got lucky by not loosing a character due to bugs/crashes doesn’t explain why in earth you would play in such a risky environment. Does it give you a high?
Dude, i havent say that there are no problems. chill out and relax, kiddo. I have constantly crashes too. Also in the middle of a fight, always logged back in alive. Just don’t play hardcore when you don’t want to risk your toon. i know the risk and i’m fine with it altough i’d be pissed when i’d die to a crash/dc. But thats the way it is.
And yes, it does. Ever survived with 5% health? Your heart goes like crazy. It feels good. At least to me. And i guess many other HC players too.
PLoot as option would be great, its boring to MF solo all the time. Still MFing solo would be the best way to get loot because you get all.
And if you dont like that option, DONT USE IT.
And you are wrong the devs said they wouldnt do it on LAUNCH but they are discussing such ideas as option.
Diablo2 is a multiplayer game but you play most of the time solo because of the loot system, that isnt good design. Even the original devs said they would have liked Ploot but ran out of time or it wasnt possible due to technical limitations, dont quite remember which one it was on that subject.
well, as mentioned in another thread (or was it here oO)…“we agree to disagree”.
doesn’t make sense to discuss this over and over again. everybody has its own opinion, and thats ok.
Sure, but I’ve still not heard a single valid argument against a PLoot option. I discount the argument that it’ll ruin the economy, of course, because there’s no need for it to do that if implemented sensibly.
So what other genuine reason is there for not wanting a PLoot option? [Note “just because” and “it’s always been like that”, do not count as arguments. I want actual sensible arguments.
LOL, the arguments were presented over and over again but people like you are either blind or have ill intention to participate in a civilized discussion. Plot would kill 50% of the feel of the game and in that moment diablo 2 would seize to be the much loved classic that it is. So as most of the tourists will be gone in a month or so, i wish you well and cant wait the time of this ploot, extra content and other such silly notions to finally stop. Good day.
In the very past people would run bosses and then run back to town, drop all loot on the floor and have a chat about it.
But that novelty soon wore off as the game got old(er).
Now in public games there’s people picking up loot randomly and it is also alleged that they use auto pickit systems so loot disappears in ms.
I am all for personal loot. I also think that some who are against it do not understand how the game rolls separately for each player. Of course with MF, the devs will have to develop a system that is fair to all, for example what would be the advantage of inviting a 500% MF player, if with personal loot, your own MF is the only that counts? They will have to find a proper system that accounts for that.
Same as always: Choice. Group up if you need to overcome an obstacle but receive potentially less loot, or play solo which is harder and receive more loot.
YOUR choice. Simple. And no, a “good” game doesn’t offer you everything. A good game offers you these choices, and it’s on you to make the best out of it. That’s what games should be about.
