The iron golem is completely useless if you want to use him with worthy items. He despawns so easy even if there are no barriers or corners between him and the character. Even 1 display screen width is enough to make dim disappear like nothing.
It cant be that you have to use an enigma and just move with teleport to make him not disappear.
Use Enigma for Iron Golem and he keeps teleporting towards you.
“Just use the best item in the game to fix this huge flaw”. I mean hell, i would but the highest rune i ever got from playing this game my way from launch was…Mal.
The crazy thing is that iron golem seems to disappear more often that clay or blood golem. Haven’t tested fire enough but i bet that one sticks around more as well.
I lost a good item a few days ago because after the revive fix, i figured surely the iron golem is fixed as well. Ran half the way from wp to summoner because someone already cleared it and the damn thing just vanished.

should really not despawn or get stuck somewhere - its an old bug from my point of view and deserves to be fixed.
The iron golem does not despawn, he turns hostile and gets killed by merc or skellies. I have screenshots but am not allowed to post links.

That would explain why iron golem feels to me more prone to despawn. Other golems don’t suffer from this bug right?
Either way, this should be good news right? Since It’s clearly a bug, they will find out about it and finally fix it. It’s not a balance thing to cause iron golem to go away every now and then.
I also have the feeling that it happens more frequently with Golems made from Insight, perhaps from other runewords too. Golems made from non-runeword items (e.g. IK Hammer) tend to live longer. But not sure really.
