Mercenary Reduce Enemy Resists Item Question

If a mercenary is using an item such as Crescent Moon runeword, which has -35% reduction to enemy lightening resist, does that reduction only apply to damage done the mercenary or does the player benefit from that reduction too (and vice versa) ?

I’m not talking about conviction or lower resist, just items that have specific reductions to enemy resistance.

as you say it is the item that has that reduction not a aoe effect like infinity so no it will not effect your damage only merc
