Monarch Shield on Nightmare difficulty?

Hi folks,

Is it possible to find Monarch shield on Nightmare Cow Level? I’m level 76 and reached Andariel without much problems.

I have also made 5-6 Mausoleum, Pit and Tower runs, but no luck. Does it make sense to switch back into Nightmare and try cow level for Monarch? Some write it is only hell difficulty some say cow level /8 on Nightmare is also fine. What are your experiences?

On Nightmare it’s impossible.

Keep on with Mausoleum, Pit and Tower. Krypta & The Hole is also an option.

monarch cant drop in nightmare.

also some of the first lvl in act1 hell have no chance to drop it.

Thank you guys. Do you think it is possible to get it on lvl 76 player? Or should I better progress to Act 2 and try ancient tunnels?

fo sure you can get it with this lvl.
you need to farm the right “area level”

search with google for “area level” (links are not allowed).
monarch have an ilvl of 72. so it is possible to drop from special monster at “area lvl” 69+
in area lvl 72+ every monster can drop it.

Great, then probably bad luck. Are you guys farming for months here? I’m to the point when farming takes too long and not interesting anymore

Haha, I have seen it :stuck_out_tongue: Yes, that is why I’m asking → google says there are no chances finding it on Nightmare and I don’t want spending time for farming without any chance

My bad…confused it with sword base. Nightmare cows is where you get base for spirit sword. Crystal swords from nightmare cows will roll 4 soc guarantee. Monarch is indeed found only in Hell.

I don’t like farming.
Normaly i go es far as possible with a charakter bevor even consider farming.
And even then i find my self rather starting a new charakter project with the items i found along the way. For example i found a lot cool items for necro so i startet one just 2 days ago.

Pretty sure a Crystal Sword from Normal cows will roll 4 sockets, guarenteed.

But it will drop with max 3 socs in Normal.

Sorry. I meant if a Crystal Sword on Normal cows drops with no sockets, Larzuk will always put 4 on it. As long as it from Normal cows or later.

If it drops white in Normal cows, Larzuk will soc it to 4os

I think I have a few. you can have one, if I do and can’t remember if it has sockets or not tho but I won’t be on until later
