Offline Char is gone

Hi there,

I lost my offline chars after the game crashed. The char is still in the save file folder but i cannot open it ingame.
I found the following solution (topic), is this still the only way to get my char back? [SOLUTION] - How to recovery your corrupted/disappeared offline character

I have no backup of my characters … this would be really bad if I cannot get them back after weeks of playing …

Hey MathewMcJoy,

Sorry to hear that the files of your character have become corrupted after a game crash.

Because the files are on your computer, and not backed anywhere else, I’m afraid that there isn’t much we can do if these files are lost or corrupted.
