Hi there,
The character appears saved in the save folder but in game it does not appear in the offline section of the game, every other character is there except the one that I usually play.
Also everyting that I had in the shared stashs are gone.
This happened after an update on the blizzard app poped up, after the update when i launched diablo2 it asked for all the setting like it was for the first time I launched the game.
Please need help cause I invested a lot of time in that character. Thanks!
hello dbl84. Do you add command line argument to the launcher ?
If the save file is in the correct folder, but the character is not showing, then it can sadly mean, that the save file is corrupted. We are not aware of any way of fixing this.
yes, i had -enablerespec
OK it will not help to remove it.
It seems that it is a save file corruption.
Dunno if it was that, it was an update for blizzard launcher, cause after the update, I had to sign in on my account, after I started Diablo2 everything was reseted, every setting etc. Also the command line was gone, I did not remove it. anyway this thing made me quit play 
because it frustrated me.

Check your character name; numerals are no longer allowed. Rename the character in SaveGames folder; should fix it. This happened to me.
Was a normal name, only letters
