The lootfilter like PD2 where awsome so please make it possible for us.
I think 95% of all players would appreciate that!
Greetz
even with a lootfilter you gonna miss some items
its not like diablo 3
you know the filter from pd2? if you miss items with that you should go to an eye doctor =)
yes, you might miss those Sigon’s drops,Broad Swords, Pilums. this is all you can find in this epic sacred game.
Well, I think it totally depends on how the filter would work. If they make some hardcoded options, then it’s highly possible, that filter will be useless.
Although, If blizz will make some presets and possibility to implement own filter – that will be cool. I mean define by logical expression or regex, which kind of item I would like to see.
E.g. I don’t want to see white items, except for elite. So I will construct something like
if (item is white) && !(item is elite)
hide item;
And so on. Obviously, it can be done without pseudocode, just by system of flags.
P.S.
Geez, it’s actually so easy to code. I could make it in no time. But we won’t see it soon.
I think there are better solutions than PD2, such as the Last Epoch Filter. Remember that this game is also a console game, so it’s good if players on the console can also use the item filter.
Loot filter is a bad idea in an ffa loot styled game. It’s great in a personal loot title however.
A loot filter in FFA allows those who are already ahead in their builds to unfairly filter items creating an advantage at the point of retrieval, versus those that may be less lucky or are further behind. When loot falls on the ground it is paramount to maintain as much fairness within the chaos as possible.
Loot filters destroy this fairness by inadvertently providing reduced search time through loot drops when compared to someone whose build is less developed and needs more loot visible.
Again, loot filters are fantastic in ploot titles, keep it away from ffa D2R. Thank you.
Why would it destroy fairness? Everyone would have the opportunity to use the same filter. I don’t see why someone who is behind in his/her build would need to see a ton of exploding/rancid/normal potions, low quality items, other junk items etc. in a Baalrun. It’s not like 15 unique items are gonna drop at the same time and the guy with Enigma and all the BiS-items are gonna get the Shako just because he filtered out everything except 12 items in the game. When Baal dies it’s all about luck anyway because everyone is spamming pickup button or are mouseclicking around him to get the loot.
I’d kill just to be able to not see Potions or Scrolls drop. I’m happy with everything else.
Twenty characters…
I wish i could never see bolts, arrows and all the throwable potions ever again.
Why are those potions still in the game even? 100% useless for anyone over level 10 yet we see them dropped all the way to the end of the game in Hell.
What is pd2 and :no, we dont need that.
Just make runes, sets and uniques overlay the other item names, than the cluttering would be no problem even without a filter.
Yes it will, but just barely. Filter out the crap items and there’s barely anything left. Also I don’t really see the problem, in a Baalrun you could choose between lots of crap to sell for gold, or the occasional chance to get a useful items, it’s not going to rain useful item. In a chaos run, it won’t matter anyway, a developed build will just teleport to the big crowds and kill everything in 1 second and snatch all the loot anyways.
